  • Sehonou participated in many battles mainly in France.He was fought in Toulon to set the city free from the enemy where he lost two of his fingers.

During the war Raymond Henri was emprisonned 2 times in france as a french prisoner of war but every time he managed to escape .He came back in France in 1947 demoralised

After this period after the war he got married in Tours with Madeleine Fronteau and they had three children Alain Henri and sylviane Henri but the first child died at 5.Together they lived in a farm in TOURS.

The french empire needed soldiers to defend the country.Sehonou was choosen because he was young and strong.He was brought to a training camp in senegal so he can learn how to fight.Later, he became one of the "Tirailleurs senégalais".

Before the war,Sehonou was a farmer in his home town.He never went to school beacuse it wasn't possible for him but he was a really good person.

Raymond Henri was a bricklayer. He stopped school when he was 14 years old .He married to Madeleine Henri and together they had 2 children, my grandfather and his sister.

The french government never paid Sehonou.Aside that. he suffer from severe PTSD because of how the war was violent.He returns to Dahomey after the war but because of the trauma, he isolated him and his family in a forest so nobody can make them suffer like him.He never send his kids to shcool beacuse of the trauma.
