Antonio Machado es reconocido hoy como uno de los poetas más profundos de nuestro idioma. Su tumba, en Collioure (Francia), sigue atrayendo cada año a miles de peregrinos que rinden homenaje al autor de Campos de Castilla.
La vasta obra de Juan Ramón Jiménez, que él mismo nunca terminó de ordenar, sigue siendo estudiada y publicada por especialistas. Ninguneado en España durante la dictadura (proponerle al Nobel surgió de Maryland), la relevancia de su aportación a la literatura española está aún por calibrar en su totalidad.
