Let us sing

Once upon a time there was a boy called Joe, who had a very big imagination. It took him away to a less ordinary world. It was his very own creation. ‘I love to draw and draw some more – it brings me so much delight!’ He changed his dull grey town into somewhere that was blooming and bright! And he drew, and he drew, and he drew, and he drew, wishing for a beautiful view. Someday he hoped he would belong, in a world of beauty, colour, scent and song.

Joe wished, and he wished, and he wished, that his drawings would come alive. That his plants would grow taller and taller, and animals could soar through the skies. ‘And then one night an idea popped into my head – I needed to find a special thing!’ A special thing to make his drawings come to life. He was excited at what it could bring! And he thought, and he thought, and he thought, and he thought, wishing for a beautiful view. Someday he hoped he would belong, in a world of beauty, colour, scent and song.

The next morning, Joe searched for the very special thing to take away the grey. Then he found a tiny little seed and he planted it that very day. ‘But my seed did not budge. I lost all hope and it made me so annoyed.’ Unfortunately, it was still dull and grey and his brilliant ideas would be destroyed! And he waited, and he waited, and he waited, and he waited, wishing for a beautiful view. Someday he hoped he would belong, in a world of beauty, colour, scent and song.

Then one ordinary day, as Joe began to draw, something happened he’d not seen before. As his drawing grew, so did the seed and a colourful world burst through the door! ‘So I preened and I pruned, I dug and I sowed and my colourful world came alive!’ From one tiny seed in a little boy’s head, the world began to bloom and thrive! And it grew, and it grew, and it grew, and it grew, no more wishing for a beautiful view. From this day he really did belong, in a world of beauty, colour, scent and song.
