Anger/Frustration

Might indicate that a boundary has been crossed, or something feels unfair, or you need to solve a problem

Message: "A boundary has been crossed or something needs to change."

Anger shows us that something feels unfair, wrong, or blocking us. It gives energy to stand up for ourselves or fix a problem

Sadness/Disappointment

Message:"I lost something important or need care."

Can signal a loss, a need for comfort, or a chance to reflect and heal.

Sadness helps us slow down, process loss, and ask for comfort or support. It shows what matters to us

Fear/Anxiety

Message:"Something needs attetion or protection."

Fear tells us that something feels unsafe, unknown, or important. It help us prepare, slow down, or be careful

Often a signal of potential danger or something important to prepare for.

Activity

Take a quick "body scan."

Right now, where do you feel any tension?

TASK CENTRED

Any lightness?

That's your body talking!

What it is:

Emotional Intelligence (EQ) is your ability to understand and manage your own feelings, and to recognize and influence the feelings of others. It's different from IQ (Intelligence Quotient), which measures academic or logical smarts.

Joy/Excitement

Tells you what brings you pleasure and connection, poiting you towards what you value

Message:"This is good for me-do more of this."

Joy tells us we're aligned with what we like, value, or enjoy. It encourages connection, creativity, and motivation.

Why it matters:

Think of EQ as your "people smarts" and "self-management smarts." It help you handle stress, communicate better, resolve conflicts, and even make tougher decisions-all super important for thriving in high school (and beyond!)
