Jim Hawkins, Jeune garçon de 11 ans, tient une auberge avec son père. Il y rencontre le "capitaine", vieil alcoolique craignant la visite d'un mystérieux pirate à la jambe de bois. Quand il meurt, Jim découvre une carte au trésor et part à l'aventure avec le Chevalier et le médecin. Malgré de nombreuses péripéties dont une mutinerie : en effet, la plupart des membres de l'équipage étaient des pirates, Jim et ses amis arrivent à se débarrasser des pirates un par un. Sauf...

Mon avis
J'ai beaucoup aimé ce livre : les personnages étaient intéressants, mais il y en avait beaucoup et on ne savait pas toujours qui était qui. Mais il y avait beaucoup d'action, des rebondissements. J'ai trouvé certaines explications inutiles (quand le capitaine ne fait que manger et boire... C'était un début un peu long). Mais l'histoire était bien trouvée. On avait envie de trouver le trésor avec eux et parfois de regarder la fin du livre pour leur souffler les réponses.
