Friends & Teachers

A huge influence in my life growing up were my friends I made at school. Being there for 13 years, you get really close to those around you. However, I would say even more than my friends, my teachers are some of the greatest people in my life. I do in fact still keep up with them, and visit when I'm home. In fact, I recently learned that we just gained a program for children with special needs, and my plan is to get to go back and work with all the teachers that shaped me into who I am. I hope once I'm a teacher I will have the same lasting impact on each of their lives too. It was at PCA that I went from wanting to be a Vet to wanting to be a teacher. When I was in Mrs. Smith's kindergarten class I would stay afterschool and help her set up for the next day.

Experience

Afterschool care (senior year) Babysitting (2021-2026) Church preschool x2 (since 2021) SEEK Camp (summer 2025)

Tarleton

Although Tarleton was not in my plans, it turned out to be such a blessing. I initially got the PSA program due to no rankings at my high school, and chose Tarleton as my "study abroad" freshman year. While I was there I met some of the best people (Maddie) and got really invested in a bible study. I did however come home once a week so one year was the perfect amount of time there. I learned a lot about how to live on my own, and how to live with roomates :)

TAMU!

While I've only been here a little over a semester, I've already created so many lasting friendships and amazing memories. I've been in the floral arrangment org, and Youth Impact. I went to almost every home football game and my frst siftball game. I've watched my sister move in, graduate once, moved in with her, and she'll be graduating this May with her masters. - Youth Impact is an org where I got 2 littles, and I hang out with them twice a week. The org is specifically for low income kids, usually with single parent homes, and its gotten me great experience.

Hannah Joy

Hannah Joy and her mom Brandi were only in my life for a short period of time, but made a lasting impact. Momma Brandi as soon as she met me my sophmore year took me in like I was one of her daughters. She alsways made me feel so loved and she was the only reason I played basketball my senior year. Unfortunately it was during that season that I fractured my foot (jones fracture), and it ended my sporting career. It was during basketball that the team went on the annual trip to Lubbock, but I stayed back, missing the last few days with Hannah and Mrs. Brandi. While I was at an overnight retreat I got the call that they were gone.

Mission Trips

I got the honor of going on 3 mission trips with my school, sophmore-senior year. New Orleans- we walked through New Orleans feeding homeless people and worked in food banks. Memphis- THE most amazing trip. we worked with a school helping with PE and helped with "backyard bible studies" . Dominican Republic- We worked with schools giving me an insight to working with bilingual students, and we later helped in an orphanage.

Sports

I've played sports since kindergarten, so they got to be a large part of my identity. I played volleyball, basketball, soccer, track, and softball. However, when I got to senior year I relied on sports, until that basketball season when I got a "jones fracture". It totally wrecked me. I missed my senior year season of softball and the last basketball trip with hannah. The good: miracle league! Miracle League was when I first realized I loved working with those who have special needs.

Family

March 1, 2006 was the day my parents and my older sister; Regan were blessed with my presence. Family is the main reason I am who I am today. I grew up as the baby of the family in every sense. I grew up thinking everyone had a super healthy family dynamic, because all i've ever known is family reunions and constant get-togethers. It was honestly quite recently that I've truly realized how blessed I've been to have the close relationship with my family.

My aunt is the reason I am at TAMU today. She took me to my first football game when I was in 1st grade, and since then my sister and 3 of my cousins have come here. During my sisters 4 years here, she worked for the football team and my parents and I got season tickets and came to just about every home game, which was when I truly felt like I could call it my home.
