One of the most beautiful greenways in France: 40 km around the lake. Cycle a section or the whole way. A magical view at every turn. Bike rentals everywhere in town.

Bus
SIBRA (Greater Annecy public transport) allows you to travel between the different towns in the metropolitan area, reach the shores of Lake Annecy, or enjoy the fresh mountain air. The bus stop is located on Avenue d'Aléry: lines 1, 3, 4, 5
Le Col des Aravis
The Col des Aravis offers breathtaking views of Mont Blanc. From there, you can access various hiking trails, such as the one leading to La Croix de Fer or another very easy one leading to the Chalet du Curé. You can also relax on the restaurant terrace and enjoy this magnificent mountain setting. On your way, you'll pass through Thônes, the capital of Reblochon cheese. And it's there that you'll find an excellent cooperative to buy local cheeses like Reblochon, of course, but also Chevrotin or Tomme de Montagne... Then, continuing your journey towards the Col des Aravis, take a stroll through the mountain village of La Clusaz.
The charming little streets
Don't hesitate to take the walks along the Thiou River: the Thiou Promenade to immerse yourself in nature and the Louis Lachenal Promenade to reach the old town. From there, you can stroll through the surrounding streets: Rue Sainte Claire, Rue Carnot, Rue Royale, as well as Rue Filaterie, Rue de l'Ile, Rue Perrière… or follow the suggested route below.

Bridge of Love and Pâquiers
The Pâquier is a large lawn facing the lake, ideal for relaxing, reading, picnicking, or watching paragliders. Located between the Vassé canal and the Pâquier, the Pont des Amours (Lovers' Bridge) is a must-see. Legend says that lovers who kiss here will stay together forever. It offers a perfect panoramic view of the mountains and boats.
Annecy castle
Walk a few minutes uphill from the center to reach the Château. Inside: diverse collections, art exhibitions, and alpine settings. Outside: one of the most beautiful views over the rooftops and the lake. In summer, concerts and evening events.

One of the most beautiful villages in France… Cobblestone streets, flowers everywhere, small artisans, romantic lakeside, garden of the Five Senses.
Le Semnoz
20 minutes from the center: alpine pastures, 360° panoramic views of Mont Blanc, the Aravis mountain range, and the lake. Easy hikes, cheese made at the alpine pasture, summer tobogganing, skiing and snowshoeing in winter. Accessible to all.
Plateau des Glières
A remarkable site linked to the French Resistance, a large alpine plateau with accessible walks. Memorial museum and welcoming inns.
Duingt
On the eastern side of the lake, there's a more natural atmosphere, family beaches, and a cycle path along the water. Worth seeing: Duingt Castle, on its peninsula.
Discover La Cour 24, an authentic Savoyard restaurant in the heart of Annecy. Located on the banks of the Thiou River, at the entrance to the old town, it's a cozy spot with a magnificent, shaded terrace, a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of the city. Two atmospheres in one place: in winter, a warm and comforting interior with a mountain chalet feel; in summer, a magnificent terrace with an outdoor bar.
Talloires
A very popular village with celebrities vacationing there, a sought-after beach, water sports, and excellent restaurants. Starting point for hikes and boats to Annecy.

Bus station and SNCF train station
Le Parmelan
A legendary hike around Annecy, more accessible than the Tournette but just as spectacular. After a steady climb, you reach a unique karst plateau and a breathtaking panorama of the Alps, Mont Blanc, and the lake. Mountain refuge open seasonally.
The markets in Annecy
- Tuesday in the old town: food market from 7am to 1pm
- Friday in the old town and Quai de l’Evêché : food and miscellaneous market from 7am to 1pm
- Sunday in the old town: food, book and miscellaneous market from 7am to 1pm.
Cascade d'Angon
From Talloires, a shaded path leads to a spectacular waterfall. Ideal in hot weather. Appropriate footwear is recommended, as the path can be slippery in wet conditions.
Rent bikes
Vélonecy (Annecy's bike service) offers self-service electric bikes at numerous stations for very short-term rental. They are easy to spot, they are green. To enjoy the bikes for longer, feel free to check out the offers from rental companies.
- St Jorioz beach, equipped with a diving board, pontoons, toilets and showers, as well as volleyball courts, pétanque courts, and a children's playground. Facing the Dents de Lanfon and La Tournette mountains, this large beach is covered in sand and grass. Ideal for families and children.
- Angon beach, a well-shaded beach crossed by a stream, offers easy access to the lake thanks to its gentle slope into the water. Ideal for children... Paid parking is available nearby. There is also a beach volleyball court, pétanque courts, and ping-pong tables.
- Talloires beach features a paddling pool, ideal for young children. It also has a large supervised swimming pool and a smaller, supervised paddling pool, a diving board and slide, a beach volleyball court, pétanque courts, and ping-pong tables. The large lawn (partially shaded) faces Duing castle and offers a breathtaking view of the small lake. Paid parking with 300 spaces nearby.
- Menthon St-Bernard beach, with playground, pétanque court, and volleyball court.
Les Croix de Chuguet et du Crêt
Inside the Semnoz massif, the Chuguet and Crêt crosses offer some pleasant viewpoints over Lake Annecy.
Sandy and grassy beach facing the Dents de Lanfon and La Tournette mountains.
Supervised during the summer. Children's playground. Showers and restrooms. Directly accessible via the cycle path.
La Brune beach, the largest beach, and Plan beach, which is adjacent to the water sports center. La Brune beach is one of the most beautiful beaches on Lake Annecy. Unlike the other, it is supervised during the summer. It has a pontoon, diving board, children's playground, and restrooms.
Chamonix and Aiguille du Midi
Located 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes from Annecy, Chamonix offers a magnificent setting. The Aiguille du Midi cable car whisks you up to 3,842 meters, bringing you as close as possible to Mont Blanc: an unforgettable experience amidst glaciers, peaks, and the breathtaking "Step into the Void." Enjoy the lively town center and charming alpine cafés.
Gardens of Europe
From the Pâquier, continue towards the Jardins de l’Europe, a wooded and relaxing area with a wooden footbridge and century-old plane trees.

Menthon St Bernard

Where to shop? - On Avenue de Chambéry: at number 14 there is a Carrefour City. - On Avenue du Rhône: at number 17, the Le Rhône supermarket offers Turkish specialties and has a halal butcher. - For larger shops, Intermarché: 4 rue du Travail. Bakeries: - On Avenue de Chambéry: at number 20 (Les Caprices Gourmands). - On Avenue de Loverchy: at number 25. - On Avenue du Pont Neuf (after the border with Cran-Gévrier) at number 18 (Moulin de Païou). - Allée des Saules: at number 3 (Les Gourmandises).
Old Town of Annecy
Stroll through the cobbled streets of the Old Town, between arcades, colorful facades, and canals, earning it the nickname "Venice of the Alps." Lose yourself: every turn reveals boutiques, hidden gems, and charming views. Ideal in the morning or in the illuminated evening.
By boat
Embark from the town center for a narrated cruise or a simple round trip. You'll see the most beautiful villages from the water, a unique perspective of the mountain peaks. Frequent departures during the season. Or rent a pedal boat or paddleboard and explore at your own pace!

Isle Palace
A former courthouse and prison built on the banks of the Thiou River, the Palais de l’Isle is THE symbol of Annecy. A short but informative visit, ideal for understanding the history of the lake and the city. A must-see photo opportunity at sunset.
Segway ride
For a more relaxed experience, you can opt for a Segway tour. The shores of Lake Annecy are the ideal place to try this activity, as it's entirely pedestrianized; you therefore have no risk of being hit by a car. You'll find excursions in the city or on the surrounding mountain trails, ranging from 30 minutes to half a day. Learning to ride a Segway is very quick and makes it a great family activity.
Veyrier du Lac
A small, elegant village between lake and mountain. Stroll to the municipal beach, cafes with your feet in the water.
- Marquisats Beach, on the western shore of the lake, is 2 kilometers from the accommodation. It's a grassy stretch bordered by a sandbar a few meters wide. The seabed is covered in pebbles. This beach is very pleasant in the summer, as it's shaded and therefore particularly suitable for young children; however, the water gets deep quite quickly.
- Albigny Beach, in Annecy-le-Vieux, is the largest beach on Lake Annecy. Perfect for spending a day by the water, it boasts large grassy areas, clear water, and unobstructed mountain views. Restaurants, ice cream parlors, and paddleboarding are a two-minute walk away. Ideal for families and sunbathing.
- Imperial Beach, on Avenue d'Albigny, is a grassy beach with amenities that make it an ideal playground for everyone.
Col de la Forclaz
Scenic road leading to the pass, famous for its paragliding. At the summit: incredible views of the lake, picnic area, alpine atmosphere. Cafes with panoramic terraces.

Mont Veyrier, Mont Baron
A challenging but accessible climb from Annecy-le-Vieux. At the top, a breathtaking view overlooks the old town, the lake, and the Bauges mountains. A possible loop trail leads to Mont Baron.
L'abbaye d'Hautecombe
A historic site on the shores of France's largest natural lake. The abbey, a refuge for the princes of Savoy, is worth visiting for its architecture and sculpted tombs. Combine your visit with a swim or a trip to the port of Le Bourget-du-Lac or Aix-les-Bains.

Located between Talloires and Menthon, this nature reserve offers a multitude of shady trails, secluded viewpoints overlooking the lake, and rare biodiversity. Accessible to all, it's the perfect nature walk on a warm day.

Bridge of Love and Pâquiers
The Pâquier is a large lawn facing the lake, ideal for relaxing, reading, picnicking, or watching paragliders. Located between the Vassé canal and the Pâquier, the Pont des Amours (Lovers' Bridge) is a must-see. Legend says that lovers who kiss here will stay together forever. It offers a perfect panoramic view of the mountains and boats.
Annecy castle
Walk a few minutes uphill from the center to reach the Château. Inside: diverse collections, art exhibitions, and alpine settings. Outside: one of the most beautiful views over the rooftops and the lake. In summer, concerts and evening events.

Plateau des Glières
A remarkable site linked to the French Resistance, a large alpine plateau with accessible walks. Memorial museum and welcoming inns.
Duingt
On the eastern side of the lake, there's a more natural atmosphere, family beaches, and a cycle path along the water. Worth seeing: Duingt Castle, on its peninsula.

A legendary hike around Annecy, more accessible than the Tournette but just as spectacular. After a steady climb, you reach a unique karst plateau and a breathtaking panorama of the Alps, Mont Blanc, and the lake. Mountain refuge open seasonally.

From Talloires, a shaded path leads to a spectacular waterfall. Ideal in hot weather. Appropriate footwear is recommended, as the path can be slippery in wet conditions.
Rent bikes
Vélonecy (Annecy's bike service) offers self-service electric bikes at numerous stations for very short-term rental. They are easy to spot, they are green. To enjoy the bikes for longer, feel free to check out the offers from rental companies.

Inside the Semnoz massif, the Chuguet and Crêt crosses offer some pleasant viewpoints over Lake Annecy.

La Brune beach, the largest beach, and Plan beach, which is adjacent to the water sports center. La Brune beach is one of the most beautiful beaches on Lake Annecy. Located 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes from Annecy, Chamonix offers a magnificent setting. The Aiguille du Midi cable car whisks you up to 3,842 meters, bringing you as close as possible to Mont Blanc: an unforgettable experience amidst glaciers, peaks, and the breathtaking "Step into the Void." Enjoy the lively town center and charming alpine cafés.

Isle Palace
A former courthouse and prison built on the banks of the Thiou River, the Palais de l’Isle is THE symbol of Annecy. A short but informative visit, ideal for understanding the history of the lake and the city. A must-see photo opportunity at sunset.
Segway ride
For a more relaxed experience, you can opt for a Segway tour. The shores of Lake Annecy are the ideal place to try this activity, as it's entirely pedestrianized; you therefore have no risk of being hit by a car. You'll find excursions in the city or on the surrounding mountain trails, ranging from 30 minutes to half a day. Learning to ride a Segway is very quick and makes it a great family activity.
Veyrier du Lac
A small, elegant village between lake and mountain. Stroll to the municipal beach, cafes with your feet in the water.
Col de la Forclaz
Scenic road leading to the pass, famous for its paragliding. At the summit: incredible views of the lake, picnic area, alpine atmosphere. Cafes with panoramic terraces.

A historic site on the shores of France's largest natural lake. The abbey, a refuge for the princes of Savoy, is worth visiting for its architecture and sculpted tombs. Combine your visit with a swim or a trip to the port of Le Bourget-du-Lac or Aix-les-Bains.
