In Texas, to work as a minor you must give your employer a verification of age. Examples of this may be:
- School record

- Drivers permit/license
Many employers will ask for a written consent form from parents, but this entirely depends on the business.

If you are 14-15 years old:
- You may not work for more than 48 hours per week or 8 hours per day.
- Nor can you work the hours of 10 p.m.- 5 a.m. the night before a school day and 12 a.m. - 5 a.m. during weekends or breaks.
If you are 16-17 years old:
- You have no restrictions in Texas on your working hours, nor on working times. These depend on your employer.
