This version of Cinderella differs from the original tale because Ella is independent, ambitious and refuses to define herself by marriage to the prince. She values her work, her dreams and her freedom, and does not want to give up her career or join the royal family. Unlike in the traditional tale, she chooses her own life and does not need a prince to be happy.
