I know lions can go for days without any water, but that’s only if there isn’t a water source.

Misha and Ziggy usually stay with their grandparents when their dad goes on trips. One day, their dad phoned to tell them he was off on another adventure for work. Grandma Joy and Grandpa Tunde weren’t at home. They were on a cruise in the Caribbean for a whole month. The twins’ dad had to bring Misha and Ziggy with him on his trip to find the black lion. When they got there, Misha and Ziggy were told to stay at the treehouse. Their dad went to find the lion. Instead, Ziggy shapeshifted into a bird and followed his dad and the film crew.

“I’m Dayo Asotun. Thank you so much for meeting with us. We’re so excited to see the black lion.” Kemal smiled and greeted the film crew before he took off his hat and looked at the floor. “I’m sorry, but I have bad news.” “Bad news?” Dad frowned. “Yes. I have been keeping track of the black lion for you all,” Kemal explained. “But it’s been four days and I haven’t seen him. I know lions can go days without any water, but that’s only if there isn’t a water source. There are many here and he hasn’t appeared.” Ziggy gasped loudly, but it sounded like a chirp. Thankfully the grasslands were full of various animal noises, so no one paid him any attention. Kemal stepped closer towards Dad and said, “Which is why I think something bad has happened to him.”

I will start at the beginning of the story. I will ‘look around’ for key words from the events like bird, grandma, lion or Ethiopia. These sentences show that first Dad called Misha and Ziggy’s grandparents. He wanted them to watch the twins while he was away. I can ‘find and take’ the first event: Their dad phoned Grandma Joy and Grampa Tunde.
