Then around noon, they sent documents issued to Transwicky UAB. We questioned why, since the order was for UAB Buynas Logistics. They claimed the two companies are sister firms at the same address.

Unsecure cargo can be handled in the same way as standard road transport and does not require additional security measures. For secure cargo, the applicable air security protocols must be followed to ensure compliance with secure supply chain regulations. This includes stricter requirements for the selection of the trucking company. Typically, transport is limited to a predefined pool of approved partners, significantly reducing security risks. Cargo values in Airfreight are generally higher, and stricter reliability is required due to tight transit times – trucking companies must also be highly reliable.

Check the full address of the carrier against the information communicated in advance, referring to the party performing the loading and not the freight forwarder that appointed the carrier.
Check and record the full name of the driver.
Check the reference number (delivery number, purchase order, etc.) against the information communicated in advance.
Check and ensure availability of a valid carrier insurance confirmation.
Check the driver’s personal ID and archive a full‑colour copy in accordance with applicable data protection and retention policies.
Check and record the driver’s contact details (business phone number).
Verify the registration numbers and type designations of the truck unit and trailer.
Guide
Check the original consignment note or equivalent legally required transport document to ensure it is fully completed, duly filled in, legible, and signed.
Check the driver’s driving licence and archive a full‑colour copy in accordance with applicable data protection and retention policies.
Check the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and the vehicle’s registration country.
Take photos or camera recordings of the driver and the vehicle, where legally permitted.
