In the year 722 , the battle of Covadonga took place in the mountains of Asturias, where the Christian leader Pelayo defeated a muslim army.This victory is considered the beginning of the Reconquista, the period in wich Christian Kingdoms started reclaiming territorios controlled by muslim from the 8th century.The victory at Covadonga symbolized the start of Christian resistance.

The catedral de Santa Maria la Real de Pamplona, already existed in 1085 as a romanos que church and served as the religious and political center of the kingdom of Navarre.That year,Sancho III the great died,and the catedral symbolized the consolidación of Christianity in the region
In 1035, King Sancho III of Pamplona was very important because he united several kingdoms in northern Spain after the Muslims lost much of their power. Pamplona became strong at that time. Sancho also reclaimed Christian lands occupied by the Muslims, and when he died, his kingdom was divided.

This monument was built in 999 under muslim rule. In 1085 Toledo was conquered by Alfonso VI,and the mosque came under Christian rule
the capture of Toledo by Alfonso VI in 1085 was a turning point in the Reconquista. The city, the visigoth capital before 711, fell into Christian hands, becominga key center of culture and knowledge.Toledo's fall not only marketing a militares advance but also an intellectual and religious revival,where Christian, muslim, and jewish culturas coexisted

The Alhambra, besides begin a monument, has a history that reflects the end of the Reconquista. In 1492,after the conquest of Granada by the Catholic Monarchs,Isabel la and Fernando, the Alhambra clases to be residente of the Nasrid sultans. Its surrender marked the end of muslim rule in Spain and the beginning of the Christian power on the iberian Península.
