Searching Techniques And Boolean Operators

Search StrategiesBoolean Logic and Keyword Searches

  • Databases work best using keyword searches instead of natural language.
  • Write down keywords that relate to your topic. For example, if your topic is how social media defines beauty, use the keywords Beauty AND Social Media in your searches.
  • What are some keywords that relate to your topic?
+ Watch me!

Databases

Why should I use the library databases?

Databases contain information that is most likely accurate, trusted, and reliable

Organized- with filters, databases also help you narrow down your searches

FREE- Always use the links provided by the CCC Library website. If off campus, you will need to log in using your Canvas SSO

Databases include citation generators, permalinks, and full-text articles

A great title

We don't like to bore. We don't want to be repetitive. Communicating as always is boring and doesn't engage. We do it differently. We sabotage boredom. We create what the brain likes to consume because it stimulates.
