Conclusion
I liked it !
It was a funny play to read.
It's not the kind of book i like to read but it was a good one to start because it's my first time reading a whole book in english. I don't really love when I read books with an happy ending but to be honest it's for real better for our mind haha. I laughed after re-reading it because at first I didn't understood, it's not my humor. The play is a good way to lead a message with jokes and humor.
3 words to describe the play
Funny
Meanful
Simple
There is a lot of jokes, play on word and a comic of situation.
It's a play and a play it's almost always short and simple to read
It's leading a big message
Algernon
Algernon is my favorite charater because he's funny. It's the character who I relate the most. He's one of the main characters so he's more represented in the play. He seems to be in he's own bubble notably when he says 'bunburying' like he creates words to express what he wants to say, I think it's funny.
My favorite quote
" I always told you, Gwendolen,
my name was Ernest, didn't I?"
By Jack
This is my favorite quote because it's the plot twist at the end of the play (he always been Ernest).
Off
This document is a painting entitled "Off " painted by Edmund Blair Leighton in 1899. I chosed that document because, first, I love and it so beautiful it reminds me of the paintings Claude Monet. We can see on the front of this painting a woman sitting on a wooden bench, in the back, a man leaving and between them a bouquet of flowers. We can presume the man came to confess but she rejcted him tant's why he's leaving and seems desapointed.
Cruella
Cruella is a film producted by Craig Gillespie in 2021. Like Oscar Wilde, Cruella mocks the strict rules of high society and show how characters must play a role to be accepted by their peers.
Conclusion
How does Oscar Wilde question Victorian society in this play?
Oscar Wilde denounce the Victorian society by using irony and jokes. He plays with the morals duties that they "follow" to overturn the social codes. For example Gwendolen is is very straight forward and dominant, the opposite of what women should be in Victorian era. He makes fun of the victorian society
