What are they

The Louvre Pyramid is the main entrance to the Louvre Museum in Paris. Designed by I. M. Pei and inaugurated in 1989, it was built to improve visitor access. The Louvre was originally a fortress and then a royal palace before becoming a museum.

2 triangular

Triangulated structures use interconnected triangles made of bars to achieve stability, strength, and lightness, and are used in bridges, towers, and roofs to support large loads.

The Eiffel Tower is an icon of Paris, built in 1889 for the Universal Exposition. It was designed by Koechlin and Nouguier, built by Gustave Eiffel, and is made of iron.

pneumatic

It is a DUOL inflatable air dome used to cover large sports facilities, noted for its versatility and energy efficiency.

The structure shown in the image belongs to the HC Kromme Rijn club.

Bridges allow obstacles to be crossed and connect distant places, facilitating transport, trade, and development, and they can also have hydraulic, aesthetic, or defensive functions.

bridges

The image shows the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, an iconic suspension bridge inaugurated in 1937, famous for its length, international orange color, and for connecting the San Francisco Peninsula with Marin County.

5 Arches, vaults and domes

Arches, vaults, and domes are curved structures that cover spaces through compression, providing strength, stability, and aesthetics.

The image shows the Monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes, a prominent example of Catalan Romanesque architecture, located on Mount Verdera in El Port de la Selva, Girona, with views of the sea.

Framework

A **framework** is a software skeleton that provides tools, libraries, and best practices to simplify and speed up application development, handling common tasks and allowing developers to focus on the project’s specific logic.

The image shows a metal structure under construction, specifically a geodesic dome, made of steel bars arranged in triangular patterns that provide great strength, similar to the dome of the King Fahd Islamic Cultural Center in Buenos Aires.

Laminars

Shell structures are thin, curved surfaces that efficiently resist loads through their shape, optimizing material usage.

The building in the picture is the Sydney Opera House

Massive structures are solid and heavy constructions made with large amounts of material, with few internal voids, that achieve stability through their own weight and compression, such as pyramids, dams, and walls.

**Geodesic structures** are three-dimensional constructions made of triangles that evenly distribute loads, making them lightweight, highly strong, and efficient for covering large spaces without internal supports.
