loveholidays was founded in 2012 by Alex Francis and Jonny Marsh to challenge a travel industry that often felt complicated and built for the few, not the many. We started as a small, ambitious team, using technology, data and experimentation to build a simpler way to search, compare and book package holidays online.

As more customers found and trusted us, we grew. In 2016, we expanded beyond the UK with our first international launch in Ireland. In 2019 Donat Retif became our CEO, bringing a renewed focus on clarity, pace, and customer experience

However, like many in the travel industry, 2020 and the global pandemic brought significant challenges. With Donat’s leadership, we navigated an uncertain period, adapted quickly, and emerged stronger. We continued to grow our teams, evolve our platform, and extend into new European markets, including Germany (2023), Austria (2024) and the Netherlands (2025). Today, we serve millions of customers across the UK and Europe. We’re the third largest ATOL holder in the UK and have no plans on slowing down our progress. So where are we heading next? Our vision is to become the global leader in packaged holidays. It’s a bold goal. One that requires scale, innovation and leadership, as ambition alone isn’t enough.

At loveholidays, we’re on a mission to open the world to everyone, giving our customers unlimited choice, unmatched ease and unmissable value for their next holiday. This is our higher purpose.
