Maryam Mirzakhani, born on May 5th, 1977 in Tehran (Iran) and deceased on July 14th, 2017 in Stanford (United States), was a mathematician. Her geometry work earned her the Fields Medal, the equivalent of the Nobel prize for math. She was the first woman to win this award.
