DID DINOSAURS HAVE FEATHERS?
Recently, I’ve been tracing back my family tree.
Checking out my ancestry,
following us chickens deep in time,
way, way back through our family line.
Or the pecking order, as I like to call it.
Anyhow, I found an answer I did NOT expect –
seems like I’m related to the T. rex!
From: A Poem for Every Question by Brian Bilston © 2025. Licensed under CLA. Do not copy or share.
I know, right? That was a bit of a shocker. I mean, us chickens descended from that rotter? Can’t see the resemblance myself.
But then I learnt something else –
so, apparently it turns out
that guy even had feathers just like us!
As you can imagine, it caused quite a fuss
back in the coop. These things do.
I still can’t get over it. Not sure I’ll ever!
I tell you, you could have knocked me down…
well…with a feather.
