Our History
Turning Point Christian Academy was officially opened on November 6, 2006, as a ministry of Turning Point at Calvary. The school was led by Mrs. Carole Felten (director) and two staff members, 1 teacher, and 1 aide. The school consisted of one preschool class of three and four-year-olds and an afterschool program. The school quickly grew and had an open enrollment of approximately 150 preschool students for the 2007/2008 school year. The school also opened an elementary department with a kindergarten class. The 2008/2009 school year extended to grade 3 with 29 students total enrolled in elementary and Mrs. Lynne Gregory as the school principal. Each year God has grown the school in students and grades and we now serve children from 3 years old to high school as 10th grade is added for the 2026/2027 school year. We pray that God will continue to pour out His abundant blessings as we humbly serve Him through the expansion of our educational programs at all levels.
Calendar
Turning Point Christian Academy follows the public school calendar unless otherwise noted. The school day is 8:00am to 3:00pm for 5th grade and 8:30am to 3:00pm for K-4th grade. Extended Care is available for a fee.

Welcome Meeting
What to do?
What is it?
Participate in a brief video conference welcome meeting with Mr. Samson. This meeting is an opportunity to review your application, answer initial questions, and explain the next steps in the admissions process!
What's next?
Once your application has been submitted, you will receive an email to schedule your welcome meeting with Mr. Samson, Registrar. Only one welcome meeting is required per family, regardless of the number of students applying. No additional documents are needed for this step, just plan to have the family together!
During your welcome meeting, we will schedule your placement testing. We look forward to seeing you then!
Tuition Information
Turning Point Christian Academy offers a 10% multi-student discount to families that have more than one child in Kindergarten-10th grade. This means that the Kindergarten-10th grade primary child in each family will be at the full amount with subsequent siblings receiving a 10% discount. Standard practice is that the youngest child in Kindergarten-10th grade is charged full tuition, while subsequent siblings receive the discount. This can be changed to another Kindergarten-10th grade student at the family’s request before the finalization of the initial contract.
Placement Test
What to do?
Bring your child to the scheduled placement testing session on campus. The assessment covers Math and ELA skills, which are foundational for understanding in all subject areas. This is not an entry exam—it is a snapshot of current skills, not a pass/fail test.
What is it?
What's next?
Placement testing is required for all applicants to help us understand each student’s current academic skills. The testing appointment will be scheduled during your welcome meeting. If you need to change the time, you can contact Mr. Samson by phone or email. Students should be well-rested, have had a snack, and be prepared to do their best.
Once testing is complete, our admissions team will review all of your materials. You will be contacted with next steps after the review is finished.

TPCA complies with all of the standards put forth by the state of Florida. Its operation is governed by the pastor of Turning Point at Calvary, a business administrator, a superintendent, and a paid administrator. All teachers in the preschool program have level 2 background screenings and the necessary credentials to teach in the particular class.
Bible is taught each day. In addition to the formal Bible class that teaches basic knowledge of both the Old and New Testament, TPCA uses a Christ-centered curriculum that has a Biblical worldview. Any secular materials used are taught through a Biblical filter. All students participate in a weekly chapel service to encourage corporate worship and grow in the knowledge of God’s Word.
