BIOGRAPHY

Albert Einstein (born March 14, 1879 – died April 18, 1955) was a brilliant scientist born in Germany. He is famous for his amazing ideas about how the universe works, especially his theory of relativity. As a teenager, he moved to Switzerland. He later worked in a patent office, which gave him time to think about physics. In 1905, a year often called his "miracle year," he published four papers. These papers completely changed science. When Adolf Hitler came to power in Germany in 1933, Einstein was visiting the United States. Since he was Jewish, he knew it was not safe to go back home. He stayed in the U.S. and became an American citizen in 1940. On April 17, 1955, Einstein had a burst blood vessel. He was taken to hospital, but he refused surgery. He died the next morning at age 76. His brain was removed after his death for scientific study. Scientists hoped it might show the secret of his genius.

KEY MESSAGE

El Greco is currently considered one of the greatest geniuses of universal pictorial art. In his time, he was considered an extravagant who marked his own stylistic path without too much talent, largely due to what was formerly seen as a flaw and is now discovered as a virtue: his unique way of using colors, painting stylized figures and elongated forms.

Key themes in Picasso's philosophy

• Action-Oriented: Ideas are worthless without execution, as "Action is the foundational key to all success" • Constant Creativity: "Every act of creation is first an act of destruction," he noted, emphasizing the need to destroy old ideas to create new ones. • Childlike Vision: He famously believed that "All children are artists. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up". • Purpose of Art: Art should not just be a pretty picture, but a way to express a new, often chaotic, reality. His work and words highlight that life and art require active participation and risk-taking.

Scientific work

Einstein was a theoretical physicist, which means he used math and deep thinking to figure out the rules of nature. He also made big discoveries in quantum mechanics, another important part of physics. His most famous idea is the theory of relativity (E = mc²). This equation shows that energy (E) and mass (m) are two forms of the same thing. In 1921, Einstein won the Nobel Prize in Physics. He received it for explaining the photoelectric effect, which showed that light can act like tiny particles.

QUALITIES

Evidently classic and irrefutably modern, his visionary work is continuously rediscovered and reevaluated as a paradigm of genius, originality and innovation. He broke away from the traditional Renaissance style to embrace an individual aesthetic that was entirely his own, imbuing his works with incredible emotion, distorted bodies, dramatic color and arresting light. He was very much ahead of his time with an unusually modern eye, and his work served as the precursor to 20th century Expressionism and Cubism.

El Greco was born Domenikos Theotokopoulos in 1541 on the Greek island of Crete, which had been under Venetian rule since 1212. By 1566 he was already an established painter of icons. In 1567, he relocated to Venice. There he absorbed the Venetian Renaissance style of Titian, Tintoretto, and Jacopo Bassano and began his transformation into an Italianate painter. In 1570, El Greco moved to Rome, where he focused on portraits for the circle of learned men who gathered at the Palace of Cardinal Alessandro Farnese. In 1572, for unknown reasons, El Greco was expelled from the Farnese household. He remained in Italy until 1576, when he departed for Madrid before settling in Toledo, where he stayed until his death in 1614. While in Spain, he executed a number of his most celebrated works.
