explanation

The Interactive Workshop is made up of 21 Screens categorized into 3 main groups: Intro, Sections, & Outro. Intro covers everything needed before the 4 main instructional content sections. Each of these 4 sections follows a similar structure and format however, section 3 includes the main Guided Practice activity, which is expanded separately on the Wireframe as it has more components to be illustrated. The Outro wraps everything up for the learner to finalize preparations for the upcoming independent practice towards LO1 during the remainder of the module.

Module 1: realize your calling

Rationale It was decided to focus on one learning module, as each module & its LO follow the same structure & format, & will utilize the same features. These features can be easily replicated if effective, or updated before replication if needed. Additionally, it would not be the best use of resources & time to design the program more extensively across several or all modules. Focusing on one module prevents redundant work, multiple changes, & supports rapid prototyping & testing.

modality rationale

Genially was selected as the authoring tool. Its modifiable features & functionality best accommodate the diverse preferences, capacities, & constraints identified through the learner personas’ analysis. It provides flexibility in how, when, & where learners engage. The platform supports synchronous or asynchronous participation, independent or cohort-based learning, & access across varied technical contexts. This includes low-bandwidth environments & cross-device use. Multimedia eLearning resource was chosen as the core instructional modality for each module. This takes the form of "Interactive Workshop” components, representing a new & central addition to the program. As a result, the format requires greater focus on modular design & development. This focus ensures consistent, high-quality learning experiences across contexts. The Interactive Workshop modules are to be designed using core multimedia eLearning principles. They integrate content, visuals, text, reflective prompts, & guided interactive activities. Learning content & interactive features remain consistent across delivery modes. Learners can progress independently at their own pace (asynchronous version) or participate in facilitated cohort sessions via Genially’s "Present Live" feature (synchronous version). The asynchronous version will also be available for all learners to access & review any time, regardless of their chosen instructional delivery method. Genially is optimized for cross-platform use & adaptive screen sizes. It offers optional offline access for viewing & presenting. The tool meets WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards & aligns with the POUR principles (Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, & Robust). The platform's creator tools & tutorials also support the design of accessible content (Genially, n.d.).

target audience

The target audience for the scope of this redesign is:

Adults seeking online or digital meditation and mindfulness (M&M) alternatives or supplements to better connect with the concepts, integrate practices, & realize deeper purposes & potential.

The emphasis is on underrepresented/underserved populations in the Field. (those whose needs, interests, & preferences are not being met)

RationaleThis target audience was determined to best address common learning gaps, needs, & preferences based on the research & synthesis conducted in the LX plan to develop the learner personas, as well as the resulting design considerations from the persona analysis.

Learning outcome 1: attune

DESIGN RATIONALE

LO1 is placed at the program's opening to establish clear learning foundations before more complex concepts are introduced. Accessible, engaging early instruction is particularly important in digital mindfulness programs, where low engagement and dropout are well-documented risks (Mrazek et al., 2019). By giving learners a concrete, personally relevant focus from the outset — alongside simple, applicable mindfulness and meditation practices — the workshop supports both initial engagement and the ongoing independent practice that later modules build upon.

The Interactive Workshop is the primary instructional vehicle for Module 1, positioned within a broader set of learning tools supporting Independent Practice. Its purpose is to equip learners with the conceptual knowledge, guided practice, and tools needed to begin fulfilling LO1 by the end of Week 2. By the end of this workshop, learners will be able to: (1) Identify or refine a personal focus for the program [Bloom's Level 1-2: Remember, Understand] (2) Independently practice meditative and mindful awareness to deepen attunement to this focus and related concepts [Bloom's Level 3: Apply]
