Godward Dependance

  • We recognise Jesus as Lord and Saviour, and as recipients of this historic Christian faith (Clause 3., Credo Doctrinal Basis) we live out a vital and credible witness to Jesus, dependent on God.
  • We uphold the Bible as God’s living word, anchoring all that we do and freely sharing it with all.
  • We exhort each other to obedience to God’s word as necessary for personal transformation, empowered by the Holy Spirit.
  • We heed Jesus’ invitation to grow in him through continual personal and communal prayer.

Missional Drive

  • We represent Jesus with hope and joy on campus, through a humble yet noticeable public presence.
  • We prayerfully gather the lost to Christ, inviting friends, peers and anyone on campus to consider the truth of Christ, and welcoming them into our Credo communities.
  • We train, support and celebrate members’ participation in God’s mission so that they confidently own their faith.
  • We expose members to gospel partners in other contexts, inviting them to contribute to local and global mission.

Embracing Communities

  • We delight in sceptics, explorers, doubters, and believers alike participating in Credo.
  • We cultivate transcultural, interdenominational, intergenerational and multiethnic fellowship as a fruit of the magnificent truth of Jesus Christ.
  • We celebrate restored relationships when truth is spoken in love, when repentance is met with forgiveness, and when the peace of Christ guards our hearts.
  • We will strive to include and keep people connected through personal and intentional follow-up, with respect for their privacy and agency.

Collaborative Partnership

  • We disciple members in their Christian faith, specifically encouraging them to use their gifts in service of others.
  • We provide contexts in which people can take risks by trying new roles and tasks, while being equipped alongside peers and mentors.
  • We foster dynamic teamwork between undergrads, postgrads, staff, academics and alumni.
  • We encourage leadership that provides direction and godly modelling, seeks counsel and is receptive to advice and feedback.

Contextual Stewardship

  • We see ourselves as a missional outworking of the broader Christian community and so will communicate the importance of being a part of a local church.
  • We encourage members to value their education and to pursue their studies, research, work and future professions diligently as an act of worship.
  • We regularly pray for UTS, ActivateUTS and UTS College, and respect wider university bodies and clubs.
  • We include students from nearby tertiary institutions (especially those without a vital gospel witness).
  • We use the university years to nurture hearts for the worldwide body of Christ, including where followers of Jesus are few or marginalised.
