While there are many types of inhalers, the Albuterol and Breyna inhalers are great examples of short-term versus long-term asthma management

Should be taken as needed, at the first sign of symptoms during flare-ups
Taken routinely each day, typically two puffs twice a day
When?
Reduces inflamation and relaxes the airways, and requires the mouth to be rinsed after usage
Relaxes the airways and opens up the lungs, making it easier to breathe
HOW?
Most commonly used, this inhaler is more generally prescribed for anyone with asthma needing quick relief
Prescribed for people with chronic asthma that needs daily management
WHO?
Tip: rescue inhalers are often blue, while ones that work long-term might be orange, yellow, or brown
