The Mystery of the Missing Glimmer Stones

Featuring Echo the Owl

Next

A Dim Morning

Listen

In the heart of the Magical Forest, the mornings were usually sparkling bright, but today Echo the owl woke up feeling a bit gloomy. The forest looked sleepy and dull. He flapped his wings and flew to his favorite branch. "Something is wrong," Echo hooted softly. The magical Glimmer Stones that lit up the forest had vanished overnight!

The Big Decision

Listen

A speedy squirrel named Squeaky zipped up the tree. "Echo! The Glimmer Stones are gone! The Elder Tree said they might have rolled down into the Sunken Caves, or perhaps the mischievous Wind Sprites blew them up into the Whispering Treetops." Echo puffed out his chest and had a determined look on his face. He had to help, but where should he start?

Search the high, breezy Whispering Treetops

Into the Dark

Listen

Echo chose the caves and swooped down, the air getting cooler and damper. The entrance to the Sunken Caves was blocked by a pile of strange, glowing mushrooms and rocks. A grumpy badger was trying to move them. "Can't get through!" grumbled the badger. "These things need to be moved in the right order, from heaviest to lightest!

The Crystal Chamber

Listen

"Great job!" said the badger as they moved the heavy boulder first. Inside, the cave opened into a beautiful chamber filled with singing crystals. The crystals were humming a tune. Echo noticed a pedestal in the center with a riddle carved into it. To open the next door, he had to solve a math problem using the crystals.

The Fork in the Cave

Listen

The door rumbled open! Echo flew deeper until the path split again. One tunnel smelled like sweet honey, and the other echoed with the sound of rushing water. He heard a faint giggle coming from the honey tunnel.

Follow the sweet smell down the Honey Tunnel
Follow the sound of water down the River Tunnel

The Sticky Situation

Listen

Echo flew into the Honey Tunnel - it was very sticky! There he found a group of tiny, giggling cave pixies playing in a puddle of golden goo. They were holding a shiny Glimmer Stone! "You can have it if you help us remember our song!" squeaked a pixie.

A Sweet Success

Listen

"That's it!" the pixies cheered. They gave Echo the Glimmer Stone - it was warm and bright. Echo thanked them and found a small air vent leading back up to the surface. He had one stone, but he needed more!

The Slippery Slope

Listen

Echo chose the water sound. He zipped down a tunnel that turned into a rushing underground river! Whoosh! He slid down a waterfall and landed in a calm pool. Sadly, there were no Glimmer Stones here, just some very confused fish. "Wrong turn," Echo sighed. He spotted an exit that led back the way he came.

The Whispering Treetops

Listen

Echo decided to check the treetops, so he flew higher and higher, past the grumpy owls who were still asleep, until he reached the cloud layer. The Wind Sprites were zooming around, playing tag. "Have you seen the Glimmer Stones?" Echo asked. A sprite stopped. "Maybe! But first, you have to beat us in a race. Tell us which is fastest!"

The Windy Clue

Listen

"You know your speed!" the sprite cheered. "We saw some shiny things get blown toward the old Cloud Castle over there!" The sprite pointed to a structure made of interwoven branches, flowers and solid clouds. Echo arrived at the bridge to the castle, but it was broken - let's help fix it!

The Cloud Castle Choice

Listen

Echo chose the correct items which magically repaired the bridge. He hopped across to the Cloud Castle entrance. There were two doors. The Red door was hot to the touch, and the Blue door was cold and had frost on the handle.

Open the hot Red Door
Open the frosty Blue Door

The Fiery Room

Listen

Echo pushed open the Red Door. Whoosh! It was a room full of friendly Fireflies having a disco party! It was hot, but fun! In the center of the dance floor, used as a disco ball, was a Glimmer Stone! "You need to show us a 'good' dance move to join the party!" said the head Firefly.

A Sparkling Prize

Listen

Echo spread his wings and moved his body to the music! The fireflies cheered and lowered the Glimmer Stone. "Take it, cool owl!" they buzzed.

Echo grabbed the warm stone with his beak, found a window and flew out. He had one, but he needed more!

The Icy Mistake

Listen

Brrr! Echo opened the Blue Door and was instantly covered in snow. It was just an empty freezer room for storing cloud-berries. No Glimmer Stones here. His beak chattered. "Wrong door," he shivered. He had to go back and try the other one.

The Whispering River

Listen

Echo followed the river bank. The sparkles led to a group of friendly otters who were building a dam. "We found this shiny rock!" said an otter, holding a Glimmer Stone., "But we lost our construction plans in the water. If you help us count our logs, we'll give you the stone!"

The Otter's Reward

Listen

"Fifteen! Exactly right!" The otters cheered and gave Echo the Glimmer Stone. Echo now had two stones total!

The otters pointed downstream. "We saw the final stone's sparkle flying toward the Singing Meadow before it disappeared!"

Next

The Steep Climb

Listen

Echo flew up the Misty Mountain. It was tiring work! Near the top, he met a wise old Mountain Goat guarding a narrow path.

"To pass, you must prove you know right from wrong," bleated the goat. There was a Glimmer Stone was resting on a ledge behind him.

The Goat's Clue

Listen

"Correct," said the goat, stepping aside, "Kindness is always the right path."Echo swooped past and grabbed the Glimmer Stone. He now had two stones in total! The goat winked, "The final stone is hidden where the magic is quiet - in the Singing Meadow!"

Next

The Singing Meadow

Listen

Echo now had two Glimmer Stones! Both the otters and the goat pointed him toward the Singing Meadow! He flew there quickly. The meadow was calm, but hidden in a huge field of bright flowers was a maze! In the center of the maze, he could see a faint shimmer - the final stone!

The path marked with fastest-moving things
The path marked with slowest-moving things

The Fast Path

Listen

Echo chose the fastest path, weaving through the flowers! He almost had the final stone, but suddenly a grumpy gnome appeared and blocked the way! "To pass, you must remember the colours of the Singing Meadow's Magic!", said the grumpy gnome.

The Slow Path

Listen

Echo chose the slow path. He was instantly surrounded by thorns and sticky goo! He got stuck and had to slowly flap his way back out of the maze entrance. "Wrong choice," he mumbled, covered in leaves. He needs to go back and choose the correct path!

The Final Challenge

Listen

Echo now had all three Glimmer Stones! He flew to the Ancient Hollow tree and placed the stones into the their sockets. A wooden door appeared! Above the door two green symbols began to glow brightly. This was the final, most important choice.

Use the power for helping others
Use the power for yourself

The Brightest Forest

Listen

WITH A BRIGHT FLASH! Echo chose to use the power for helping others and a massive wave of magical light burst forth, filling the Ancient Hollow Tree. Not only was the forest's brightness restored, but it was brighter and more beautiful than ever before! All the animals cheered for Echo the forest hero!

The Disco Forest

Listen

WITH A LOUD WHOOSH! Echo chose to use the power for himself. The Glimmer Stones decided to be silly! Instead of lighting up the forest, they only lit up Echo's tree house, turning it into a giant disco ball leaving him alone and the forest dimly lit. "Well," sighed Echo, putting on sunglasses, "I'm still a dancing owl!"
