Hyde Park

The central town of Hyde Park may seem like just another trade town, however, it's anything but. It's a great place to visit with its striking historic architecture and friendly locals. Its location has advantages too, for example, it's in the centre of Doncaster, connecting it to other towns in the area. In addition, the town has useful transportation, having access to the Doncaster train station and bus routes. So all in all, Hyde park is a great place to visit, why wouldn't you want to be here. Hyde park has a lot of places that people love going to! For example there's a shopping center called Lakeside village with lots to do. For example you can go shopping at Next or maybe you need a suit from suit Direct or maybe you just want to sit and have something to eat or drink at Etto. In Hyde park there is also The Dome! The Dome is a popular place with lots of things to do. Like going ice skating, going to the gym or maybe swimming but unfortunately you can't go swimming just right now as they are currently making the swimming pool even better. Next to The Dome there is also a lake with lots of beautiful sights to see! Doncaster is full of remarkable places, one of them is The Dome, which provides lots of activities such as swimming, ice skating and the gym. Families and friends go to make bonds, friendships and memories. Another example is the lake, which is located in Lakeside. Lakeside is a very popular place for people who like calm walks, long runs and a great view. These structures may seem small, but they are a significant part of our community. It makes people proud to live in this town. The groups and clubs provide a friendly and safe place for young people. Without these structures, people would become less socially connected. This is why Hyde Park’s services are friendly and proud. Hyde Park is a really good place, but there's still improvements that can be made. Maybe we could add more clubs, like rugby or dance. It would be great to have local doctors instead of having to go all that way to town. Overall, Hyde Park is great because of the community and its structures.

Hexthorpe

Welcome to Hexthorpe! Hexthorpe is a small area that is full of diversity with different ethnicities. It is is between the city centre and Balby.it has one main bridge called st.James bridge. It was popular for transpotters to view trains going to Sheffield. Also in this area it has lots of shops e.g supermarkets, takeaways, corner shops and more where you can buy large variety of food. You can also take the 371,372 and 373 bus. Hexthorpe has a few social structures such as a junction. The junction is a Christian Church where they sometimes host events for children to do activities such as playing. Hexthorpe has many useful things that help people who live there.A few examples are the Church where you can play games and get food and they also do family activities there. There is also a boxing gym which is good if you want to start boxing there is also a park which you go to if there is nothing to do because it is fun. Hexthorpe has tonnes of beautiful and majestic places, like the fire stations (Doncaster Fire Station). They are majestic and beautiful because they have buildings shaped like towers and The Dome is peculiar because it is shaped like a circle.A entertaining place to go is to the Doncaster Racecourse because it has great entertainment like watching the horse racing and you can win. Money so it’s great for a day out.Another great place is the geglars chimney which is so tall you can see it from far away. These structures are important because without them Doncaster would be dreadful, deceitful and dull. People would not have things to do. Building on this, we are lucky that we have all the things we need to survive, such as transport which helps us get around. The structures support the community because they all have different roles eg(hospitals help people who are injured/hurt). Although Hexthorpe has some strengths, it still needs some work. One good idea would be to make the pharmacy (Balby Pharmacy) Another idea would be to build some darts and football academies to help improve young people's skills and maybe boost the town's popularity. If they succeed, young people reach their dreams plus if they become a darts or football player people will have some more entertainment.

Belle View

Welcome to Belle Vue! Have you ever heard of this small village in Doncaster? If not, then you must! This tiny community will leave you feeling warm, welcome and wonderful. It is a 35 to 40 minutes walk away from the beautiful Doncaster city centre and it has a lot to offer for all kinds of people. There are peaceful parks, bright buildings and most importantly, a compassionate community. Despite its size, Belle Vue offers many opportunities for everyone. For example, there is a youth club at the Salvation Army for the younger residents to hang out with friends or meet new people or to just chill out, play games, sports or draw. There are also other services for other age groups such as a church in the Salvation Army where people can get closer together because of the love of Christ. Inside of the church, there are very unique services where children perform their music to the community of the Salvation Army. Furthermore, there is a café in the Salvation Army where people can have a chat and meet up. For the football fanatics, there is a football club where children can get more active and see their friends outside of school. Also, if you’re feeling a bit under the weather then you can go to the Asda pharmacy and get some medicine to feel better or get support for your health. Belle Vue has some truly beautiful structures. One of these is Lakeside. This is a tranquil and peaceful place where you can walk your dog, walk by yourself to relax or walk with your friends. Either way, you’ll be left feeling satisfied. If you’re more interested in trees then you can go to Sandall Beat Wood and you will be feeling at ease. You can go on walking trails or just appreciate the beauty of nature. This is located next to the racecourse and Hilton Hotel. These structures are significant to the culture of Belle Vue’s community as they help get rid of loneliness and boredom and can connect everyone together. When a town has sports clubs and youth clubs, it makes everyone feel like they belong and can make everyone feel welcome as there is something for everyone’s interests. For example, sports can bring people from all backgrounds together to enjoy something, removing loneliness. These are also important as they can build new friendships and can make a better, stronger community. Although, without these, there would be hardly any friendliness or community Even though Belle Vue is a friendly and vibrant village, there are many services that it is missing. An idea would be a care home closer to the village's vicinity. This is because it would help the older residents get the support that they need. Something else that would benefit this village would be a clinic to treat injuries as it would make people get the help that they deserve without having to drive a mile away. The variety of clubs can also be improved so that there is everything for all types of people. With all of these improvements, Belle Vue could be a more inclusive village where everyone’s diversity is acknowledged.

Sprotborough

Welcome to Sprotbrough. Sprotbrough is a village that goes quite under the radar in the Doncaster area , but maybe that's part of what makes it so charming. Located just an 8 minute drive from Doncaster town centre, Sprotbrough is both aesthetically pleasing and also easy to get to. Regular bus routes such as the 219 operate from and to Doncaster. Its community events, such as the Christmas light switch on or the Scarecrow weekend. Its structures, as detailed below, help you to understand the sense of togetherness you will feel throughout the village. Sprotbrough offers some great services like schools, libraries, corner shops, retail shops and parks. There is an upskill trail nearby around Cusworth Hall. These help the community because the services are very important for a good quality life, by providing personal assistance and support. For example, there are lots of retail shops to do your food shopping, such as Sainsburys, Go Local and Londis. Also a pharmacy is important to get your prescriptions. In Spotbrough there are many green spaces. If you go to the right of the Goldsmith center, there is a big green field with some benches along the side of the wall and fencing. Just behind the Goldsmith center, there is a park where parents take their children to meet their friends and are able to play. The other green space is just near to the left of the scout hut where there is a big green space, exercise equipment and a park further up along the field but there is no seating. only in the park and you need to carry around your rubbish but it is a good place to have picnics and walk your dog. Structures are important in our society not just because of the physical impacts but also the mental impacts these structures have for people. For example community centres like the Goldsmith Centre, Methodist church hall and St Mary’s help people have fun with various events throughout the year. The Methodist church hall houses Baby Basics, a charity which helps local families providing essentials for parents struggling. These services are vital in the current economic climate support in the harder winter months, offering a warm space for people to go to.It is these services that help people stay connected, happy and supported as with these it makes sprotbrough somewhere to be proud of! Even though Sprotbrough is already a great village, there is always room for improvements. For instance, more transport options like bus routes as there are only two buses throughout the area. This would help the community because transport is important as this could be used for many things like driving to work, or to a train station.

Tickhill

Welcome to Tickhill! Tickhill is a small, market town on the border of South Yorkshire. It is twenty minutes drive from Doncaster City Centre and it has a doctors, pharmacy and library which are very beneficial because you don’t have to travel far to get help or have fun. There are regular bus routes to get from Doncaster to Tickhill. Tickhill is also close to Harworth, Rossington, Bawtry, Maltby and Wadworth. It is a charming market town with plenty to see and do. Tickhill is surrounded by fields and there is a little stream you can walk down which is outstanding, because it's surrounded by stunning fields and nature. It goes to the Mill Dam. The Mill Dam is an old dam in the middle of Tickhill and is surrounded by wildlife and there are lots of ducks to feed. Additionally, there is a river called the river Torne but sadly you can’t walk down it because it’s private land and there is no public footpath. Tickhill has a wide variety of social services and community spaces, such as the library, Tickhill surgery, the pharmacy, St Mary’s Primary and Esfeld Primary. The library is the perfect place for a good book and to meet new people. Tickhill makes a perfect place for a family to live and enjoy the surroundings. It also has lots of sports such as football (Tickhill Juniors FC) and the cricket club with a team called Tickhill CC. The cricket club has a great atmosphere allowing people to enjoy the match. You could also go on a walk around the village and stop at a nice cafe, there are plenty of cafes but my favourite is Lotties Coffee and Wine Bar because they have amazing coffee and gorgeous food. Tickhill has a lot of delightful spaces to enjoy. It's surrounded by beautiful fields and farms. It is the perfect place to go for a walk down Water Lane or go to the Mill Dam and feed the ducks because the people are friendly. It's quiet and very relaxing. The Mill Dam is over 700 years old and it was an old mill and had a waterwheel, but sadly the stunning wheel has been removed. Tickhill also has lots of old buildings such as St Mary's church. It’s one of the finest in Yorkshire! Tickhill Parish Room is an amazing building built in 1109 which is a great place to visit because sometimes there are also lots of events there such as Saturday coffee morning, various yoga classes, crafting club and much more. Tickhill also has a Castle called “Tickhill Castle” which is the oldest building in Tickhill. Sometimes if you come and you’re lucky you can go into the castle and explore the history of Tickhill. It was built in 1102 as a motte-and-baily fortress built by Roger De Basli. Tickhill has lots of social and physical structures. We have the library, Community Centre and Scouts. Here you can meet new people and old friends. There are lots of buildings such as pubs which help people meet and have a good time. There are also lots of shops and restaurants. It's the perfect place to visit or stay. Tickhill has a lot of things to offer, to see and do. Structures are very important to Tickhill because they are a primary source of the town's identity, layout and its history.

Bawtry

Doncaster, it’s part of the east seafront railway, home of the Frenchgate shopping centre and birthplace of the flying Scotsman. But when your day out in Donny is over, where is there to go? Well… why not try the little village of Bawtry. Nestled comfortably between plenty of South Yorkshire's major towns such as Tickhill and Retford. Bawtry is a quaint little trading village that achieved its status of casual luxury, by using its convenient placement in the country and its own River Idle, to trade with neighbouring villages. But, if you don’t feel like driving there, then why not take a bus? Just look for routes like the 21, 25, 98 and 99, To Worksop, Gainsborough and Retford. Bawtry is an enchanting community, virtually free of the problems most other places struggle with often. Want to know more about what it’s like when you actually get there? Read on. Many different structures take form in Bawtry: some physical, some not. The community, the healthcare, the support groups. These are just a few of the ones that make up this humble little village. All of these are a part of the community, and provide lots. If you need support, there's a pharmacy, mental support groups, and even a gym! However, if you have a taste for the more higher class things you can do, why not see some of the places on our very own high street? On one side, there's a pub, and even charity shops. But on the other, there is much more. On this side, there's an italian restaurant just brimming with charm and class, and even a medium-end car dealership, if you want to explore Bawtry behind a wheel. It’s not just utility that makes Bawtry special. If you want more, then imagine a small courtyard, the hazy sunlight bouncing off smooth tiles on a summer evening. Well in Bawtry, you don’t have to. Take a left under a red brick archway, and you’ll be met with the incredibly enticing smell of nearby restaurants, the sight of sun on stone tiles, and the sounds of distant birds chirping. But there’s still more to come. Across the street from that archway, towering above every other building in the village, is The Crown Hotel. Multiple stories tall, the three-star crown hotel is everything you’d want from an accommodation. But why does this matter, what's the point, and above all, why are these structures so important to the community? Well the answer isn't as simple as you may come to expect. The Crown Hotel is important because not only does it generate money for the village, it provides a place for visitors to stay. The new hall’s support groups and activities aren’t useless. People genuinely rely on them. The support groups help with all manner of problems someone may have, and help people work past them. And the activities are a great way to stay healthy. Even the little shops dotted around, like Premier or Sainsbury’s are important. They provide a source of food and other resources to residents. All of these show that the structures, both physical and otherwise, don’t just support the community: they're a part of it.

Tickhill

Tickhill has many important services that support the people who live there. One example is Tickhill Library, which provides residents with access to books, computers, and useful information. The library also runs family activities and offers digital support for anyone who needs help using technology. Nearby, the local GP (Tickhill Surgery) delivers easily accessible healthcare for everyone. Local schools and sports groups, such as football teams and dance classes, give children and teenagers opportunities to stay active, develop new skills, and make friends. Altogether, these services help make Tickhill a supportive and welcoming place to live. For a relatively small place, Tickhill offers an impressive range of services that support its residents. Tickhill Library, for example, is an important part of the community. It provides books, study space, family activities, and digital support for people who need help with technology. The local GP surgery, along with nearby healthcare services, makes it easy for residents to access medical care without having to travel far.Local schools, such as Tickhill Estfeld and St Mary’s Primary, help build a strong sense of teamwork and community spirit among young people. Sports clubs and fitness groups, including football teams, dance classes, and walking groups, encourage people of all ages to stay active and socially connected. Volunteer projects and local events run throughout the year, showing that Tickhill’s community services truly put people at the centre of the town. Tickhill also has many beautiful places for people to enjoy. Tickhill Mill Dam is one of the most popular spots, with its peaceful water, wildlife, and walking paths. Families visit to feed the ducks, take in the views, or relax in the sunshine. The Buttercross in the town centre is another important landmark, showing how long Tickhill has been part of the area’s history. St Mary’s Church is one of the oldest and most impressive buildings in the town, reminding people of Tickhill’s historical past. The nearby Tickhill Castle, even though it is privately owned, is another key feature that makes the town unique. Together, these places make Tickhill feel welcoming, interesting, and full of character. These community structures are important because they help people live positive, connected lives. When a town has good schools, reliable healthcare services, and safe places to relax, it gives residents opportunities to meet others and enjoy their community. It also helps people feel proud of where they live.In Tickhill, places like Tickhill Estfeld Primary School, the local GP surgery, and Tickhill Mill Dam provide spaces for learning, support, and outdoor activities. For young people, clubs, sports teams, and local events can reduce boredom and help them stay safe. Without these community structures, people might feel lonely or isolated from others.Tickhill’s services, green spaces, and historic buildings all work together to keep the town friendly, welcoming, and full of community spirit. While Tickhill already has a lot to offer, there is always room for thoughtful improvement. A dedicated youth centre would give teenagers a safe and inspiring place to socialise, learn new skills, and build their confidence. Better evening transport links to Doncaster would also make life easier for workers finishing late, as well as for young people who want to take part in activities outside the town. These changes would make Tickhill even more welcoming and accessible for everyone. With small but meaningful developments like these, Tickhill could continue to grow as a lively, forward-thinking community. After all, the best towns are the ones that keep improving to meet the needs of the people who live there.

Armthorpe

Armthorpe is a calm and quiet but productive mining village. It is a 15 minute drive from the city centre and has 3 buses that go into it, (381, 382, 383) which take from 20 - 40 minutes to get into Armthorpe. We have multiple family owned places and food places. We have a lot of great places for scenery. We hold many houses of different sizes and places for leisure, at least 60% of the residents go here, to help keep healthy and fit. We have many great services and structures, like shops and schools. Our community has multiple primary schools and a secondary school. We have many great places for the essential food shop, like Aldi and Morisons. The options for quick food are great, we have places for an Indian meal, places for fish and chips, and pizza. For those who like to read there is a library with a big selection of books with all sorts of genres and for those who want to learn about the religious stories there is a big church. For the adults there is a great pub to have a night out with your friends. These structures are important to help, feed people, educate people, teach them about the religions and to just have fun. Armthorpe has a good historian background because we have the pit top the reason why Armthorpe is a place. The pit top in Armthorpe is the mines because decades ago it used to be a mine and people would move to Armthorpe during them times to go to the mines to do their job and after the mine was to an end Armthorpe became a place. We have many structures but what would happen if we didn’t have them? Armthorpe would fall apart without them. There would be no way to get food because there would be no shops or restaurants. Nobody would be educated without the schools and library. We would also have no healthcare or leisure without the structures. The structures that help us have fun would all be gone causing Armthorpe to be an empty and boring place. Overall without structures, Armthorpe would fall apart. Structures are what shape Armthorpe and make it the calm village today. The small village of Armthorpe may have many great structures, but we do lack some great structures. One of the most important things Armthorpe needs is some fast food places, we don’t have any of the well known places and all the current ones in the village all sell similar food. We also need a bakery to get some quick treats when you are in a rush. Another thing that Armthorpe lacks is an entertainment place for the older ages, that is why we need a theatre or a cinema, many residents would agree with this. Finally, we need more outdoor leisure spaces and activities so more people can keep fit. Overall Armthorpe would improve a lot with these structures but is still great without them.

Stainforth

Stainforth is a small but beautiful village about 25-minute drive from Doncaster Centre. There are many things to do in Stainforth such as; library, parks, treasure kids and shops. Treasure kids is an afterschool club for younger years that teaches them all about the Bible and Christianity. This is on a Friday every week. Older kids can volunteer to help out there too. Stainforth may be small but the scenery is gorgeous. If you walk down the canal you will see some goats, cows and ducks. Also we have Asda with a lot of shops close to it, there is a train station that is a short walk away from Asda. There are many clubs, such as football juniors and football older that keep the children entertained and busy whilst the parents can relax. Stainforth has many amenities. We have doctors and pharmacies which are helpful for people of any age range. The staff there are so friendly and really helpful. The library is a good place to read and relax and also down the road is a small cafe that provides great drinks and food for people who prefer relaxing in a cafe rather than the library. There is a gorgeous church where people can go and practice their beliefs. There is a youth club that is a good place to hang out; they accept all ages from year 2 to 10. Stainforth has a lot of greenery such as canals, fields and more. The canal is a great place to go fishing and also go for a walk. The canal is a beautiful place with a lot of greenery, flowers and wildlife. The parks are a good place to take your kids to play. The welfare park is amazing because it has a baby area that contains a slide, baby swings and a roundabout. Also there is an older kids area where there is a plastic tower, a spiderweb swing and a zipline. Also if you walk enough down the canal you might be able to see some more animals. Then if you walk across the road to the River Don you might see some river boats pass through. Structures are important because they help people be happy and hang out. Parks help kids make friends and live out their childhood along with teens. Doctors and pharmacies help people with their health. Schools are very important for education so children can grow up and get jobs. So overall, structures are important because they make the community a community. Even though Stainforth is an amazing place it could use some things. For example a care home for the elderly so you don't have to go to the village over to see your grandparents. And also maybe another primary school since there is only one primary school. The youth club could use some refurbishing since it's mainly for younger years. Thank you for reading my guide and I hope you enjoy stainforth for what it is.

Rossington

Rossington is a large village near the M18 with a myriad of things to offer. It is about thirty minutes away from Doncaster city centre with buses every 10-20 minutes, connecting it to other nearby villages for example, Bawtry. Therefore, travelling to and from the city centre is simple. Rossington has a strongly community oriented spirit; residences have green spaces too for wildlife and people to thrive. Rossington has many useful facilities that are beneficial for the residents. One example of this is the fire station. This is helpful because if there is an emergency help will come quickly. There are also two charity shops which show kindness and compassion that people in Rossington show toward one and other. There is also The Royal Care home where people can take their elderly relatives to be looked after. Rossington also has five parks where children can play and adults can walk their dogs. There is also a large field that hosts many events such as fairgrounds, fireworks, football games and cricket games. Additionally, there is a church where people can practice their religion. This proves how much Rossington respects the people around us. The St. Michals church is still a beautiful building even though it is over 100 years old which demonstrates how long it has been part of the community. Although Rossonston already has many things to offer, there is always room for improvement. I think that a youth club would be a good way to bring even more positivity in the community. It would allow teenagers to socialise, build confidence and share their thoughts and feelings to others. This would also benefit parents because it provides free childcare if they are at work. To conclude, structures are important because they let people live happy and connected lives. When a town or village, such as Rossington, brings to the table amenities such as shops, schools and churches it makes people feel warm and welcomed. Therefore structures, whether they are physical or social, such as community, are very important to keep society together.

Wadworth

Wadworth is a small village that is well known for its very rural area and farming. It is roughly 13 minutes away from Doncaster’s Frenchgate Centre. It has four bus stops, ensuring that residents and visitors alike can easily enter and leave. Wadworth’s community is small but friendly and has a variety of historic buildings. As the village is roughly in the middle of the busy 22 bus route, it allows for easy access to neighbouring towns and key social areas, like the City Centre. Having access to places like these is important to make sure that residents can socialise with friends. It is an amazing place to live, as it is very historical and has a good amount of greenery and leisure space. In Wadworth, there are a variety of places which are responsible for helping people socialise and ensuring their mental wellbeing is of a good quality. One of these is Wadworth Hall, where events can be hosted and people can socialise with other residents. It hosts parties, social events and art sales, amongst other things. The village also has a local primary school, which helps nurture the children of the village into the later stages of their life, by teaching them the basic skills to thrive. It also allows people to socialise at school events There is also a variety of naturally magnificent physical structures within Wadworth, such as the iconic St. John the Baptist church. Its iconic shaping, age and clock tower ensures that it stands out from other buildings in the area. In addition to this, the White Hart pub is renowned amongst residents, well known not only for its food, but for its iconic structure. Its centre placement within the village makes it an ideal place for gatherings, to have parties and to socialise. These structures are valuable because they help people live happy lives. When a town or village has these physical and social structures, it ensures that people are engaged in their town's heritage and activities. In addition to this, it also guarantees that people are proud of where they live. These structures make sure that people, young and old, remain engaged in their area and their lives. Without these structures, people may start to feel lonely and/or isolated from their community. Wadworth’s illustrious historical buildings ensure that people can be proud of where they live. Even though Wadworth has many good qualities, there are a variety of things that could make it even better. An idea would be to add more social groups and clubs to the village, so people can remain engaged without having to travel extremely far. Another key improvement would be to improve the transportation system in the area, by giving the local bus route higher quality buses. This would help people get around much easier, especially for those who don’t drive. These small improvements can make Wadworth much better than it is.

Thorne

Welcome to Thorne! Thorne is a small town near the north of Doncaster.. Thorne has many opportunities for residents and visitors to have a great experience. It is about a 26 minute drive on the M18 to Doncaster and our school (XP Doncaster). Thorne has two train stations to choose from either Thorne South or Thorne North. Thorne is a simple town with mostly really nice and friendly people. There are old buildings like St Nicholas Church and Peel Hill, which used to have a castle on the top in the 11th century, but now it's nice to walk around and up the hill itself. In Thorne, there are many useful things and buildings to help people that live there. A few examples are Autism Plus and Specsavers, which are pretty close to each other. If you're struggling and in need, charities are important because they help people in our community who are in poverty, by donating items to help. There are also local schools and sports clubs like Green Top School and the Thornensians Rugby Club, which provide a good opportunity for young people and teenagers to build friendships and improve teamwork throughout the teams and schools. There is also a leisure center in Thorne, where you can go to swim,. gym and you can also go bowling.. Many children sign up for swimming lessons, because health care and fitness is important so people don't get really ill and have to drive far to get treated. A beautiful place in Thorne is Bunting Woods. Bunting Woods used to be farmland and was bought by the town council in 1993 to create a community woodland. Many people take walks there with their dogs. The wood covers over 79 acres and in 2013, it was formally declared a Local Nature Reserve, which gives it a national status recognized by Natural England. The wood was named after William Bunting who protested against turning Thorne moors into an airport. Beautiful structure is important for structure because it brings people together to admire the place. In a town, you need structure for it to run smoothly! In Thorne, our structure is important because it helps our small town run efficiently. We have cafes and pubs that host game nights to bring everyone together. There are certain events around Thorne and a few times a year there are fairs in the park where hundreds of people come. Also we sometimes have bands come and perform in Thorne. There is a mini train that goes around Thorne park during certain events. During carnivals they bring a big slide out for people to use. In my opinion, I think the structure would improve even more if we could have some improvements to our local football pitch. Currently, they don’t have nets and the pitches are not lit at night. This could make children and young people come together, improving Thorne’s structure.because it would make more kids come and play, allowing people to go outside more instead of staying inside.

Mexborough

Mexborough is a big town with approximately 15,600 people in it towards the South-East of Conisbrough Mexborough is a great town where families can go on walks to the local Park. Mexborough is a great location to visit as it has amazing tourist destinations near to it such as Conisborough Castle with its gorgeous design and interesting historic past. It also has great transportation access. An example of this would be Mexborough Station. This is important because it means people can get there from other areas also meaning if they cannot drive they can get here easily. Mexborough also has great access to education with Primary schools such as Montagu Academy on Park Road. This is a great school to choose as a large portion of students have over 96% attendance which is the national aim for attendance. Mexborough also has access to broad-minded and diverse secondary schools. The Laurel Academy has a wide range of extra curricular activities to introduce their students to new cultures and activities. Mexborough also has friendly and comforting health care with its colourful children's area and animal designs all over the walls to calm your nerves. An example of this would be Montagu Hospital with its vibrant environment also equipped with staff attending to your every need in the best way possible. It also has great access to shops such as Lidl and Aldi with its friendly staff who help you with anything immediately and handle any trouble reasonably to do your weekly shop. Mexborough also has a youth club named Mexborough Community Hub with activities such as cooking and computing. These places are important because it assists children to get a good life later on as they will know how to treat other people correctly and be able to help others when needed. Mexborough's diverse community allows people of all religions to worship who they want. This is important because it makes sure that people don't feel alone. These inclusive elaborate churches are all over Mexborough for instance Mexborough Life and Church Centre with its amazing atmosphere. You really feel the accepting atmosphere when you see a wide variety of people who follow many different religions. It is great that these churches are inclusive because otherwise a lot of people would feel as though they are not accepted just for their religion. Do you enjoy the outdoors? Well if so there is a great variety of parks to walk through. A great example of this would be the Highfield Park. Another one would be Queen Park with its refreshing greenery. These types of structures (churches and community hubs) are important in a community because they give people a sense of humanity and support. This means that they have been given the chance to be treated equally. Giving people a sense of community gives people a reason to go outside and meet new people or improve their wellbeing. As a result of this it also gives people the image that they are not alone, they know this from the community hubs and the church groups, and have people who like similar things. For people who struggle to find their own community, Mexborough is a great location for socialising locations to prove this would be Clayton park or Denaby ings park. Mexborough also gives religious people a sense of support with its diverse church groups. Even though Mexborough is a great tourist attraction, there are still things that could be added to improve it to make it a greater place for people to visit and live. I personally think that a mental health centre would make it a better place so that people have a place to go to when people feel as though they need someone to talk to. I also feel as though more food banks could be added as some people are less fortunate and may need extra support. Giving them that support would make them feel human rather than making them feel as though they are less than others.

Scawthorpe

Welcome to Scawthorpe! This charming place is 10 minutes from Doncaster interchange. It has parks for the little ones to burn off all their energy, some nice local shops for easy access also have nice houses, easy parking and buses every 20 minutes. Scawthorpe is a suburban area in Doncaster, just next to Cusworth and bently. It's around a 10 minute drive from Doncaster town and is accessible by bus or car, it's not far from the A1 and only 4 minutes from the main road, York road, which takes you straight to the town centre over st georges bridge. The community is friendly and welcoming. There are many useful structures in Scawthorpe which satisfy the needs of the residents. A few examples are The Petersgate medical centre, Rase veterinary Centre and Scawthorpe Community Centre. The medical centre provides healthcare for anyone, not just locals, and the vets do the same but for animals. Scawthorpe community centre is there to help people socialise with people nearby and runs events sometimes. There are many schools to provide education to kids and teens to prepare them for their future. Scawthorpe has a lot of amazing outdoor spaces. One of them is a park which consists of: swings for toddlers and older kids, a slide, a climbing wall, a roundabout and a football/ruby pitch. The park is beautiful, gets people outside and it's used by all ages. The library is a place for elderly people and also for kids and adults to come and talk to people. Scawthorpe library also hosts festivals and parties also Santa and the Easter bunny come in. Doncaster is built on structures, not just as decorative features, but as the essential foundations of our daily lives. organisational support, stability, and function, while also enabling efficiency in areas like businesses, personal life, and even creative work. Structures aren't just pretty buildings, anything built is a structure like pharmacys, statues, houses, ect. Scawthorpe has brilliant stuff. But what about the not so good stuff? What we think needs to be improved is building a church nearby because people have to drive about 10-15 minutes to get to the closest one, The Minster Church of St George in Doncaster city centre. Also, the park could do with a few more security features because teenagers keep destroying it by vandalising the key parts of the park, which the kids enjoy, and also leaving rubbish everywhere so we need to get a security camera to watch over the park or people, such as the council, to come out to the park to clean it up or even just a bit of stewardship and integrity from our community.

Cantley

Come with me to explore the hidden gems that Cantley has to offer. This humble village has lots of modern and new housing close to all nature's treasures like woodlands. We have a perfect place for the more elderly residents as well. The liberty house, a wonderful opportunity to thrive in this huge mansion house which is the perfect care home. We have loads of spots for our younger audience too. The Yorkshire Wildlife park ! Home to the only wildlife park that has a polar bear enclosure, a perfect day out. The Yorkshire Wildlife Park is home to many different types of animals from meerkats to polar bears. We have lots of services here for everybody’s needs like our local Oakwood GP service and our pharmacy right next to it to cover medical needs. We also have a community centre that has all kinds of activities like a book club and martial arts lessons with professionals so you can keep fit and healthy. We have an excellent primary school just down the road on Plumpton Park Road, Hatchell Wood primary school is rated “good” from Offsted in 2022. As an ex pupil of the school I really believe your child will get the best education. Take a moment to breathe the oxygen-rich air in the tranquil area of the hatchell wood forest. You might even be lucky enough to hear the owls hoot. Discover the tracks and paths in the woods, the perfect place to go biking offroad. This bustling village is in the centre of everything you need. We even have a skate park and walking paths dotted around the area. This place really has a lot to offer, Sandall Beat Wood is just around the corner. Take your family out for a picnic day and the kids will love the huge play area right inside the forest. Social structures are vital in towns such as Cantley, luckily we have a community centre, library and church these are very important for Cantley as it brings people together and prevents loneliness and depression. The knitting clubs in the library are especially good at gathering elderly and chatting together to make new friends. Places or things in Cantley that may need to be improved could be adding more games and activities for younger people. Examples could include spray painting and art clubs to avoid illegal graffiti. Additionally we should have skating clubs and BMXto put the skate park to use and get teenagers outside more. It would be great if the council could consider younger people’s ideas too, maybe you could make a change as well. Finally another thing that could be improved is safety on buses, a solution could be having CCTV on buses or police on bus stops to ensure safety.

Bessacarr

Have you ever been to Bessacarr? Well, there is a lot to know. It is a beautiful suburb area surrounded by social and economic amenities such as the Lakeside lake and numerous different shops. Furthermore, there are appealing, environmental and scenic areas, like the parks near Bessacarr ( examples include Hexthorpe Park and Cantley Park). It is also known to be a peaceful and well-maintained neighbourhood. Additionally, there are beautiful green spaces, like the parks, dotted all over Bessacarr for everyone to leisure. Moreover, Bessacarr offers multiple job opportunities, from businesses providing retail jobs. Plus, Bessacarr has easy access in and out of Doncaster City Centre (Frenchgate), only taking approximately 5-10 minutes to get to town by car. Likewise, Bessacarr has many bus stops around the area and the Doncaster Train Station is 11 minutes away from the neighbourhood, by car. Bessacarr is full of numerous, essential services that are available to aid all residents living in the area. These services and structures make Bessacarr unique and stand out from other areas in Doncaster. These services are culturally significant to the community. For instance, there is the Bessacarr Medical Center and the Bessacarr Pharmacy right next to each other. This is very beneficial to the community as you can have access to healthcare and go for check-ups. Then, straight away you will be issued with your prescription to get it next door. Furthermore, reducing the NHS strain makes it effortlessly simple and helpful. This is instead of travelling all the way to a hospital you can let the NHS focus on emergencies rather than doing simple check ups. Additionally, it is convenient for elderly and disabled people as it has easy paring, accessibility and reduces travel. There are other helpful services, such as the local school around the area. An example where you can receive primary education is Bessacarr Primary School (BPS). For secondary education, the school Hall Cross Academy lower sits in Bessacarr. Schools allow children to enhance education, friendships and social skills. Leading on to this, parents and teachers will also be able to build relationships and socialize. Another practical service in Bessacarr is the Dome, a large sports, leisure and entertainment complex in Doncaster. This is significant; it helps with economic regeneration in the area. The Dome on Bawtry Road has multiple facilities to offer including the most popular events including ice-skating, concerts, badminton, fitness village, 5 aside football, cycling track, swimming, soft play, outdoor cycle track, sports hall and much more available to all ages. This is giving health and fitness options and opportunities to socialise making communities and friendships stronger. Furthermore, the Dome impacts community life for youth activities and family events. Finally, there is the Doncaster Tennis Courts on Saxton Road, bookable and can get tutoring, where anyone of any age can come and play tennis. This brings communities and friends closer together. Additionally, this keeps us fit and healthy, improving our mental and physical well-being. There are multiple, beautiful structures and attractions accessible in this area. The Lakeside lake is an example of a captivating place to visit, where you can have a peaceful, enjoyable walk with the view of the swans and the ducks in the lake. Also, you can jog or run around the lake. This adds that fitness element which anyone can do. The lake is also good for sitting on benches, dog walking and socialising, taking in the view or getting exercise. However, if you are someone who would like to take your kids out instead. Where they can get exercise, socialise and most important of all, have fun. There are parks dotted all over Bessacarr that can give you that. Furthermore, you can also walk your dogs and the parents and guardians will be able to make friends and have a chat. Another beautiful place in Bessacarr is The South Yorkshire Aircraft Museum, where you can see a wide variety of aircraft and helicopters from early planes to modern day jets. This allows people to see the history and development of the aircraft. This is a very informative, as well as an amusing visit for the public. You can have the chance to experience being a pilot in a flight simulator. In addition, there is the Yorkshire Wildlife Park where you can explore various land and sea animals. Examples of most popular attractions are: The Polar Bear Enclosure, The Land of the Tigers and The Lion Enclosure. Anyone can go for entertainment, education (seeing animals' way of life and habitats) and to experience (have an opportunity to see a variety of animals) close-up views of the range of different animals. Finally, there is the Lakeside Shopping Centre, where you can shop, eat, see family-friendly entertainment and the special seasonal events. There are a grand total of 45 designer shops. There are a dozen different places you can eat with a list of cafes, fast food and restaurants. Offers a variety of entertainment including indoor and outdoor playgrounds, plus they host a variety of events including: Halloween Activities, Summer cinema, Free Crazy golf, Ping Pong and so much more. This gives people (adults and kids) a time to get together and have fun. In Bessacarr, the area’s structures play a key role in shaping both its character and its daily life. The mix of modern homes, well-kept public buildings, and thoughtfully planned community spaces helps create a sense of order, comfort, and identity for the people who live there. These structures support the rhythm of the neighbourhood—schools that anchor family routines, shops that keep local life convenient, and green-space facilities that encourage connection and well-being. Together, they form the framework that makes Bessacarr feel organized, welcoming, and distinctly its own. Although Bessacarr has many fabulous features, significant structures and basic necessities. Additionally, these buildings and services give us a sense of community. Furthermore, we have access to healthcare and education, making people have an awareness of purpose and association. However, there are a few improvements needed to Bessacarr. The area could benefit from a few key improvements, including better maintenance of green spaces, pavements, and public walkways, along with safer lighting in parks and open areas. Residents would also appreciate more reliable public transport links and stronger efforts to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour. Additionally, improving access to health and wellbeing services would help support the community’s long-term needs. Maintaining the area's aesthetic as well as protecting the surroundings is very important. They can be used for multiple chances like, socialising, meeting up with friends and family, residents taking their dogs out and much more. This allows more people the convenience to get out more.

Hatfield

Laying in the heart of Doncaster sits Hatfield, to which for some is one of the first locations when thinking of Doncaster. This is because of the easy connectivity to leave and enter Hatfield. The train, bus or just simply a car are reliable ways to access Hatfield.Additionally you can further gain access to Hatfield by the virtue of the 387a 387 384 and 384a buses. Many people often pass through Doncaster and overlook the legendary history of Doncaster. alongside the affable in Hatfield that make you feel at home,You can enter Hatfield via Stainforth train station, or around a 25 minute drive from the main Doncaster railway station. Hatfield is also relatively close to the Frenchgate town centre, being only around a 30 minute drive.Thease ways of transport are extremely important, as they allow the people of Hatfield to visit other places, and gives people of other towns in Doncaster experience Hatfield's magic. To the people of Doncaster, their home isn't just a place on the map, it's a welcoming area for all no matter their differences. Despite the overall area being quite small, it doesn't impact the structures within our tranquil town. In Hatfield, there is an affordable gym with amazing and insightful staff that give information on nutrition and more. All that in close reach to everyone, that hugely benefits the journey of physical improvement you may want to do. In addition to this, there is a doctors office AND a pharmacy all in one! Ensuring immediate healthcare year-wide. Whilst healthcare being convenient, there are also amazing local secondary schools and primary schools, giving your kid a prestigious education until adulthood. Also there is an amazing century old church called st edwins church, that captures the historic and gorgeous town of hatfield. Hatfield additionally has various incredible and scenic places, differing from bewildering architecture or natural spaces such as the previously mentioned st edwins church to which many people used for things like, practising religious beliefs, christenings etc. alongside this church, sits an breathtaking park called quarry park that is used for countless beneficial things such as: family picnics, dog walks and many more things that continues to make this wonderful park inviting to the people of Hatfield. Within the extensive woods of quarry park, many people take advantage of this as some use it for mindfulness purposes if maybe you need relaxation time away from everything and experience Hatfield's beautiful natural habitat. The social structures mentioned are absolutely pivotal for the mental health and well being of Hatfield's people, the local communities like; the pubs and football clubs, give people a sense of belonging by creating connections that last a lifetime. Additionally , the community centres prove vital as they host daily bingo nights and a weekly youth club that gives people connections and perfectly captivate the diplomatic mentality of our amazing hatfield Hatfield has many advantages, but there are still certain things that should be done better.one of the small list of ideas is a special designated bus stop for children who ride the bus to and from school. This would avoid congestion on public buses and provide parents with peace of mind knowing their child is with friends all day.

Edlington

Edlington is a fairly small sized town. But despite its size, it's a safe, modern and convenient place to visit. It has a huge forest which is perfect for taking a walk and observing nature. You can find many different animals like rabbits and foxes. There is also a large group of local people doing community service such as litterpicking, keeping the place natural and clean. Edlington also has a ton of convenient stores like Asda and Home bargains with a road full of corner shops surrounding them in case you want a small snack. It's filled with newly built houses that ensure your safety, I can confirm that since I also live in a newer house. Edlington has a variety of different services to offer, a few examples would be the GP, care home and supermarket which are conveniently placed close together. This means that older people have easy access to everyday essentials. There is also a Primary school to ensure the education of many wonderful children as well as providing job opportunities. If you're a sporty person, then you’ll be happy to know that there is a local squash club and a nearby gym to keep you fit and healthy. If you're in a rush, then there is a pharmacy in the same building as the GP making it convenient and safe to access. All these opportunities paint a positive picture of our warm and welcoming community. There are many beautiful physical structures that can be found in Edlington. Since the town is fairly new, there are modern houses everywhere you look which offers a lovely and clean view. Nearby, there is a church which is a bit on the older side but still provides an astonishing view nonetheless. This also brings together a small community for anyone who is religious. Another example would be the lake in a nearby park where people often go on walks or go fishing, green areas like these are essential for a healthy and happy community. These structures are important for the community to thrive as a town without any scenic views would be pretty boring. However, when a town has all the essentials like education, healthcare and greenspace, it brings a sense of peace knowing that you live in a place that is accustomed to your needs and feelings. Another example would be the church that gives people a place where they can feel connected to God and their religion while also finding their own community within their beliefs and customs. Without these structures, people might feel isolated or unmotivated in response to the lack of social structures, which no-one would want to experience. This is why Edlington is a great place to live Although Edlington has a lot of strengths, one thing that I think could improve the area would be if they created a youth club so younger children and teenagers could explore their creative side and abilities yet still be safe from any harm. I also think that they should create a football club for young people outside of school while still keeping them socially active. Football is one of the most popular sports so I think it would be a great addition to the already filled town.

Westwoodside

Welcome to Westwoodside, Doncaster,a beautiful village located on the outskirts of Doncaster. Westwoodside has many pretty places including a park and walking trails, food and a small corner shop in the centre of the small village. It also has lots of transport options including daily bus routes and a motorway just 15 minutes away. Westwoodside is about a 20-25 minute drive into Doncaster town centre depending on traffic. For a rather small village Westwoodside has a lot to offer including a taekwondo club, village hall, park ,walking trails a shop and a few takeaways. There is also one primary school called Westwoodside church of England primary, and a secondary school 5 minutes away called south axholme academy in the next village. If you want a nice evening out you can go to the Carpenters arms, the local pub. They have lots of nights nearly every week where they serve food and have vans and stalls that come in and serve pizzas and burgers for a very little price. Westwoodside has many beautiful structures and natural features like a canal and river down one of the walking trails and it offers some activities to do beside the lake including fishing for tench, perch, roach and pike. It also offers a nice place to have a picnic. It is really fun to bike down the river bank because of the bumps and hills to go down. This area is surrounded by a forest and lots of farmers fields. structures like these are important so people can feel welcomed and proud to be a part of the community. And be able to express their feelings without any hassle and worries. I think that there could be a few problems with some people that don't agree with things that are already in place. I think this is not a problem because we can always come together and talk about how to make the community better and make sure its a safe place for everyone. While Westwoodside is already a wonderful village, I think that there could be a few investments and structures that could be put in place to bring the community together even more. This could include a supermarket closer to the village, just because the nearest one is about 30 minutes away. There also could be a nature reserve or fishing lake so the public can enjoy the excitement of a day out being calm. This could also bring a good income and could potentially bring room for upgrades or maybe a farm shop with local fresh fruit and vegetables from the many local farms. Overall these structures could bring the community together even more and create a great environment.

Hyde Park

Welcome to Hyde Park may seem small but little do you know it has lots to offer. Firstly, there is a park with a unique and nice scenery filled with flowers and trees. You can enjoy the nice nature with fresh air, you can go on walks, bikes and even for a jog. There are also lots of fields to play football so people could practise or just play with their friends. There is also a basketball and tennis courts and even ping pong so there are infinite possibilities to choose from because you could even play rugby on the fields or even cricket. If you're religious there is even a church with beautiful architecture. Another reliable thing is if you don't have a car it's only a ten minute walk to Doncaster city centre. Lastly, we have a train station that is close to and around a ten minute walk. Hyde Park has many useful services for the public like a library for people that like to read and have a relaxing time. This is a special place for people because people can sit alone stress free. There is also a cinema called Savoy to watch movies with family, friends or yourself and have a good time. Nearby there is a Cast where you can watch all your favourite shows or movies come to life or if you would like to have breakfast you can do that in the Cast as well. Another example is a car park that's next to the theatre, where there are kickboxing lessons which are very convenient if you do kickboxing because it is very easy to find parking. If you're looking for a place to relax Elmfield park has a beautiful range of nature where there are lots of trees and flowers. In Elmfield park there is also a monument of a soldier who served in a former Yorkshire infantry battalion and a nice big hotel behind it. Another great way to relax and have a good time is the Cast. Cast is a theatre which is also a cafe where you and your friends, family can sit and have breakfast or watch a show. These structures are important because they let people meet with friends and family. For example the park, where you can sit, bike or go on a jog and enjoy the fresh air this is important because this gives access to a healthy lifestyle. Another example is the supermarket. This is important for the public because it's open for a variety of food. These structures are important to the world socially and economically because it has many ways bringing the community together

Bessacarr

Bessecarr is a small town, not too far away from the town centre. In our opinion (and many others), Bessecarr is the best, if not, the nicest place in Doncaster! It has a great community full of ages, from young to old. Bessacarr has a few essentials for its residents, such as a co-op and a go local for basic necessities. It also has a tasty bakery that sells sausage rolls, pastries and cake that are mouth watering. Our local structures are exceptionally amazing, with Bolton Hill and Haslam Park, full of sporting facilities, swings for young families and outdoor gyms to ensure our residents stay fit and healthy. There are two fields where you can spot local wildlife, such as ducks, rabbits and deer. Nearby there are dog walking trails where you can explore nature with rivers and massive trees in the woods. Bessacarr has some gorgeous architecture including a church which was built in 1874. The church is a very nice place to socialise as it has some clubs on most days and it is a place for religious people to pray at. It also has a river that deer live in. A river is a key for life because it has so many ecosystems in and without them society would be quite different. In the area there are two great primary schools, a library, a doctor, a chemist and also a dentist. Bessacarr offers a medical centre that has a surgery area. You can get appointments easily, routine check up and online services you can sign up for today. Using this number: 01302 539387 or go in person (post code DN4 7JA). It has several daycares and child care options for little children and multiple pre-schools .It also offers early 20th-century homes. There are also many community events for all ages. For example, on Bonfire Night, the Doncaster Tennis Club (located on Ellas Road) holds a bonfire and fireworks. These events are great to get people out of the house and spend time as a community. This is important because socialisation allow us to make friends, and support more vulnerable people in our community, like elderly people or people without families to support them. Some improvements to my town could be specialist schools and provisions for people with learning difficulties and disabilities because everyone should be able to have access to education. There is also the local ‘red path’ which takes you all the way from Lakeside to Bessacarr. It is really dark and so maybe some lighting to ensure people can travel along it safely and no one gets harmed. I believe one necessary improvement would be a nursery for children under the age of three. This would help because if both parents work and have no other option of childcare they could sign their child up for nursery so the stress is off their shoulders ! Another idea of improvement I have is more youth clubs. Yes there are already a few but I believe if we had a variety it would give younger children or teenagers a wider opportunity to socialise and meet more peers. This would help them create wider bonds and friendships within a small area making Bessacarr more homely ! Our Bessacar is the best place to be! Come and see how Bessacarr has open arms for all who have a look!

Sprotborough

Thinking about coming to Doncaster but don't know where to go? Well let me help you. Let's take a look at Sprotborough. A lovely village located to the west of town centre with beautiful scenery shops and annual community groups there's nothing sprotborough can't give you. Sprotbrough is a small village only five minutes away from Doncaster’s City centre where you can find the train station and bus stops. There are many ways to get around Doncaster from Sprotbrough including regular buses and youth coaches which allows the youth to travel around Doncaster. Sprotbrough is surrounded by nature with many trails and woods nearby. Sprotbrough’s friendly community work together and support each other including fundraisers and clothing banks. An example of fundraiser is the talent show me and my friend Texas hosted at the community centre raising money for the charity Diabetes Uk. Community spirit thrives throughout the village. From the children doing charity events at the nursery to the adults in the care home doing fundraisers while telling stories of their childhoods which inspires the younger generations. Sprotborough's community thrives. The people are so nice you'll feel right at home. If you're looking for your community groups you can find the goldsmith centre right across from the Richmond care home or stop by the church in Sprotborough village.Sprotbrough has many useful services that help the community and their surroundings. One example of this is our community library . This provides access to books and computers. Upstairs in the library they hold girl guides, scouts and fund raising events. Local schools and churches provide education and places of worship. Voluntary work is also a key feature of Sprotbrough. An example of voluntary work is helping look after the animals at the many shelters nearby. Sprotborough has many gorgeous spaces for the community to enjoy. The Cusworth Hall and park is a great place for walks, picnics and has a cafe. It's great in spring, summer, autumn or winter! Just imagine sitting on green fields basking in the sun for a picnic or walking up the hill while it's snowing and smelling hot chocolate to reward yourself after your walk. This place has something for everyone from birds and swans chirping to fresh bakes coming out the cafe. You'll not want to miss this on your next visit. All these structures that i've talked about are what makes Sprotborough Sprotborough. All these get-togethers and events help the community to support each other. They help people from all ages and backgrounds to come together and thrive. Helping people is something the Sprotborough community feels very strongly about. Even though Sprotbrough has many strengths, there are still things that could make it even better. One idea would be more charity shops as the charity shops nearby aren’t classed as in Sprotbrough but the neighbouring town. This would help the community and people less fortunate than others. They also would help provide free school uniforms for many.

Cantley

Cantley is a small village in Doncaster – one that is frequently overshadowed by other well-known towns in the city. However, I believe that some light should be shed on this quaint area to show just how beautiful it can be. Cantley is a convenient distance from the City Centre at around a fifteen minute drive. Due to its size, however, all basic amenities tend to be within walking distance. An example of this is Cantley shops. If you do need to travel, Bawtry Road runs through it, allowing direct access to neighbouring towns, such as Lakeside, Kirk Sandall and Bawtry. Despite its size, Cantley offers a rich, diverse range of services and structures. There are multiple pharmacies (Weldrick’s Pharmacy), GPs (Oakwood Surgery) and a Dentist’s (Cantley Dental Centre), meaning residents are able to acquire the healthcare they need with ease. For those who are looking for meeting places, Cantley contains a range of parks and a small wood (Cantley Park) - the perfect place for get-togethers and making friends. Socialising is a breeze in Cantley with its friendly residents; these social structures are key to maintaining its inviting, pleasant environment. Not only does Cantley offer many social opportunities, it also has an assortment of picturesque areas. Whether you’re an architecture admirer or a wildlife enthusiast, Cantley is sure to have something for you. Down St. Wilfrid’s Road is a collection of both historic and modern homes. The buildings are truly stunning and are definitely worth going to see. A short walk away – down Church Lane, shrouded by foliage – stands a monumental church. St. Wilfrid’s Parish Church is a building that’s both visually magnificent and imbued with history, dating back to the 13th century, 1257. Structures are incredibly important when it comes to having a safe, friendly community. Schools and clubs allow younger residents to pursue any ambitions they may have and gives them the opportunity to build connections with others. A similar impact is given by parks. Not only are they great spaces for practising mindfulness and being in nature, they’re also good for meeting and bonding with friends. In Cantley, there are some especially nice areas that are lovely to hang out in and appreciate their natural beauty. Despite the plethora of good things about Cantley, there are a few changes that could be made to improve it. One idea would be to introduce a gym. There is one at The Dome, but the walk there isn’t very safe, considering the route is directly next to a long, busy road, where multiple accidents have occurred due to traffic overflow. This is important because not everyone has access to other modes of transportation – they may not be able to afford a bus or don’t have a car etc. – therefore, they won’t be able to get there. This alteration would allow locals to get out of the house more and form more ways to create connections. Another proposition is to have a better library. While there is one, Cantley Community Library, it’s very run-down and visually unappealing, which may drive people away from entering. I really enjoy reading, and being able to interact with others who do too, would be valuable. As well as this, there may be those who cannot afford books, so being able to borrow some would be very beneficial.

Dunscroft

Dunscroft is a small, communal and energetic town, on the north east of Doncaster. A short walk is enough to get to the neighbouring areas such as Hatfield and Stainforth. There is easy access in and out of the town, as bus routes run straight through it. Dunscroft is an amazing place to stay if you enjoy a town full of community spirit. Dunscroft has a lot of services that make the community thrive; parks, where football clubs are hosted and youth clubs are just a short drive away. Charities are commonly found as they help people within the town, green spaces are vital to help people to stay active; have a place to have a walk and pharmacists help the community to stay healthy especially for older people. Schools support young learners to grow so they are found around Dunscroft. Dunscroft is filled with beautiful spaces for people to relax. Scenic architecture can be found around the town and green spaces like parks and fields are perfect for walks, as well as that, there are churches that are not only structurally beautiful but also communal. Because Dunscroft is quite an old town, there might not be as many places that people can enjoy as other towns. Structures such as these are necessary as they help the community stay together and thrive. When towns have green spaces it leads to people staying active and exercising, without these structures many people (especially younger) will feel understimulated and unsafe if there's no place for them to go to so youth clubs and parks are useful for safety. Structures let people find themselves as places like religious places of worship, schools are important for children to grow to become functional members of society. Places like churches or charities are also good for older people to volunteer in or to help the struggling Dunscroft is a fantastic place to live but there can still be improvement; things such as dentists or access to arts would inspire more people to pursue different subjects. New architecture is needed as it would be nice for the town to have new things to look at.Transport such as trains would help more people to move in and out of Dunscroft, these small changes would help make it a better place to stay.

Bentley

Welcome to Bentley! Bentley is a small village in the south of Doncaster, near the river Don and Tolbar. To get to Bentley you could take a nice warm train to the Doncaster Train Station or get on a bus, as there is a bus station right next to it. You should come on over to Bentley as it is a small, cosy and welcoming village. Bentley has many different social services/community spaces such as a police station, a pharmacy, a library, a couple of churches an example could be the Bentley Baptist Churchschools, gyms, vets, local shops, and some nurseries. All of these places matter because the police station is there to keep us safe. The pharmacy is there to help us by giving us medication and telling us what's wrong and if we’re ok. tTe library is a good place because you can read for free and maybe meet some people who like the same books as you.The schools and nurseries are good for education, learning and socialising. The churches are good because they provide a place where religious people can come and pray. The gym is good for exercising and fitness, which improves mental and physical health. All of these different community services help to make Bentley a supportive, caring area. Bentley has a lot of mesmerising spaces for people to enjoy. Bentley park is one of them, as it has three parks. A park for the little ones, with many different types of smaller equipment. There is also a park where you can play and feel the cold, clean water, Then the last park is for the big kids/teens with a big slide, a little slide, a big, long, fast but fun zipline, a couple of swings, a mini, bouncy trampoline and more! In the park, there’s a large basketball court and a little pond. Finally, there is a little café called the Bentley Pavilion, which was previously used for exciting parties and weddings. Now, inside the warmly decorated café, there are plenty of options of flavoursome cakes, drinks, food, crisps and more.. During different seasons, across the year, there's usually an exciting, colourful event going on that you can go to. Bentley Park is a calm area to walk, run, sit or ride around. These structures are important because people are able to socialise and speak with people. The benefit of the park is that the kids can burn off some energy, be exercised from running and playing, and they're also able to socialise and make new friends. The benefit of three different parks is so that all ages can enjoy and still play and have fun but with safer equipment more for their age.

Lakeside

Lakeside is a beautiful village in the heart of Doncaster, just by the edge of the Racecourse in the north of England, leaving it open to the public if anyone is planning to visit this stunning village. The community of Lakeside is known for its kindness towards newcomers and will not be afraid to show positivity and make sure anyone is welcomed. The homes are beautiful and give you a great view of the lake, Lakeside’s main monument. There is a pathway straight to the train station which allows transport from road or rail straight to Lakeside. Buses are also frequent, guaranteeing quick travel every day of the week except Sunday. Lakeside is home to many social services for your liking as well, such as the shopping outlet for whenever you need anything, and many schools to educate your children. Many dining areas are available whenever, located in the heart of the village. There are also multiple leisure buildings around, such as The Dome, which contains swimming, ice skating and other miscellaneous activities all in one building! There are also a few parks around Lakeside, located right next to the TenPin bowling alley. The village of Lakeside wouldn’t be the same without its iconic lake! The renovated pathways and honest construction work makes for the perfect stroll around the lakefront. It is also one of the only man-made lakes in the country, further enhancing the experience. There are also a few refreshments around the lakefront to help you grab a quick bite whenever! Lakeside’s community is, of course, always showing kindness, and structures around the village can really show how Lakeside shines! When helpful areas such as schools, cinemas, or parks, it gives a lot of opportunities for things to do. Without these, people would feel left out, or alone. Luckily, the community of Lakeside is always showing compassion, and never hesitate to cheer you up whenever the time is right! Even though this village already sounds nice, there are still some improvements that could be made to make it even better! The road pathing could be improved to make road travel safer, and even pathways for bikers could be smoothed out, allowing a safe and inclusive way of transportation around Lakeside. More activities for young people could also be improved, because as of now there isn’t much they’re able to do outside of school hours. A community center would be nice for children or teenagers to take part in activities when they have nothing to do. Things like this would make Lakeside even better than it already is, so what are you waiting for? Come on in!

Hatfield is a quaint warming town that is nestled in Doncaster's rural areas, offering lists of opportunity and bundles of comfort. Our historic town includes vivid beauty, scenic sights and leisurely activities. However, an arrival will take approximately 20-25 minutes. Hatfield expands its beauty across its community and grounds , supporting vibrant agriculture, complementing the farming grounds it holds. Although Hatfield's community brings a sense of belonging and its grounds offer scenic views, it also provides services useful to residents of the area. An example of this is the countless education spread over the town. As well as this, it accumulates more services like churches, youth clubs, and engaging entertainment entailing activation through social structures in the community. These services ensure options for freedom, as it gives opportunity and education around the practice of prayer. While also including clubs for the younger residents, to help keep our health [mentally and physically] intact and boosted. Hatfield's structures create a caring and sensible community, helping it become an adequate town to live in. Halfield also includes engaging services for residents and visitors to gain pleasure from. This includes a tranquil area, where the birds nestle, and nature seeps into the destination's beauty. Located behind a picturesque estate, in the core of my dainty town ; essentially a 5 minute walk from[ another structure to assist residents]the working men's club. The hidden park advances to the parents' favourites, with the stretch of nature engulfing the ground. Families opt to attend this park as it holds wooden activities in the park including swings, eager to spend your summer enjoying the park, open to all ages. Another historic spot that offers an emotional attachment to the moors, as it is home to the pilot's death during a plane crash, in WW2. Hatfield is also close to the River Don recreational, lindome fishing lakes which have a spectacular scenery and a beautiful walking trail through the woods in Hatfield wood house. The church is open every weekend for walkins and Sunday services. Quarrypark is open 24/7 and has multiple playgrounds, a gym and a wood. This is a big part of the community since everyone can go and have fun, socialise and have a good time. Hatfield water park is where the real fun begins from axe throwing to an inflatable course floating on the water, it's the perfect place for a day out and to take the kids. All the social structures in Hatfield support well being, belonging and mental/phisical. These structures clutch great significance in the succession of the town as they increase the social connection, lining the heart of the community. When a town has schools, churches, youth clubs, there is entertainment and activity for the town. It also gives a sense of peace with your home location in Doncaster. Without Hatfield's radiating community feel resulting from its structures, it wouldn't be the town it now exists to be. All the social structures in Hatfield support well being, belonging and mental/phisical health.when these structures support our community it boosts our residents likeness to feel included and get help when they need it. They help people connect, meet different friends, reduce social isolation and relieve stress. This is a must have in our community because it's better when everyone's happy and not left out.

Edenthorpe

In Edenthorpe, there is a community place. In the community place they offer fitness classes, dance class and sports. There is also a school with a church right next to it. The school is called Canon Popham. The church is important as the school may do things inside of it such as nativity. Edenthorpe also has a secondary school on the main road. There are lots of houses in Edenthorpe. Doncaster’s town centre to Edenthorpe takes 15 minutes depending on traffic. In Edenthorpe, there are social structures such as 3 cafes. A cafe is located on Church Balk with a block of shops not far from the primary school. The shops have a Go Local, a balloon shop and a Chinese takeout. There are also 2 schools; one is a primary school with a church and the other is a secondary school on Thorne Road. There is a church next to the primary school. There are many beautiful physical structures, such as the park which also has a field surrounding it. The field has many ways to go. One way is to Tesco and another goes to a school in Kirk Sandall (the next village up). There are also 2 fields, one with a park and the other field without a park. There is a library on Bardon Road. Structures are important to society because it helps get us a roof over our head and food on the table for everyone in our family. Jobs can help us get money to get a house, food and clothes. Communities help us communicate to everyone that we have never spoken to before. School helps us get education such as reading and writing. To improve Edenthorpe, more activities outside of school times could be offered. Things like music centres, a leisure centre with a swimming pool and a gym that’s more accessible to Edenthorpe would definitely improve the village! These structures would benefit people both mentally and physically, giving routine and structure to their lives.

The village is mainly made up of families, with many long-term residents who know each other, which creates a close-knit atmosphere.here are also younger people and commuters who bring new energy and diversity, living in areas like the Torneley Quarter housing development. Community spaces, such as the village hall, local shops, and St. Saviour’s Church, help people meet and take part in activities like bingo nights, youth clubs, and fitness classes. Auckley has a lot of important structures that help the village work well and support the people who live there. The local schools, like Auckley Primary, are really important because they give children a good place to learn and bring families into the area. Shops and small businesses make everyday life easier, as people can buy what they need without travelling far. The Yorkshire Wildlife Park is also a big part of the community, as it brings visitors, jobs, and opportunities for learning about animals and conservation. Places like parks, the community centre, and sports areas give people space to meet, relax, and take part in activities. Altogether, these buildings and facilities help make Auckley a friendly, lively place where people want to live.

The village has a local primary school called Branton St Wilfrid's Church of England Primary School. This school was rated as "Good" by Ofsted in 2019. There are also local shops, a post office, a village store, a pub called the Three Horseshoes, a garden centre, and various other small businesses, including hairdressers and a beauty salon. Although Branton is small it is packed with fun things to do so it is well worth a visit.

Rossington

New Rossington, founded in the 1800s, is an isolated village located on the outskirts of Doncaster. It is surrounded by lots of land and agricultural fields, being known for its natural beauty. It is a very quiet village with a warm welcoming community, as it was originally known for its coal mines making it a part of the history of the miners' strike in 1980-1990’s. It has easy access to the M18, making it no problem getting around the rest of Doncaster. Don’t worry, if you have no car, there's a frequent bus route with several bus stops around the village. In the community of Rossington, you will never feel unwelcome or alone.how does Rossington sound to you? In Rossington, the social structures are a very important part of the village's social upkeep because in these buildings social events like book clubs or homework clubs are held. All of these give each person in there something to be a part of and connect everyone in the village together. Without them, how would people be together? Without them, it would make the community and not be as close as it already is so it is very important we have them, because small places like Rossington rely on them to keep the community together. Rossington also has many beautiful places to visit while you're driving through the village. For example, the new state park, cookout central on a summer day when all the neighbours host an annual community bbq giving a chance for families and friends to come together and enjoy food made from other people which usually leads to new friendships every time! Another example of beautiful structures/places in rossington is saint michael's church, another amazing place to hold social parties at christmas, easter and much more. They also give to those in need that aren't as fortunate as us and is a key feature of pure kindness in such a small community and really shows how much this place has to offer. These physical and social structures in Rossington are very important because without these amazing buildings , people won't be able to meet up with their friends or family. When a town has schools, cafes, churches and parks it gives people places to meet up and have fun with their friends. It also makes you feel proud of where you live. For the young people, like us, we need structures because without them, we won't be able to progress in life. Even though Rossington has many strengths, there are things that could make it greater. For example, in the leisure center, the swimming pool is starting to dilapidate. Also, upstairs in the gym, you could put in a sauna. Putting a sauna in the gym can. help you have better sleep and can improve your cardiovascular health. Transport could also be improved by making buses appear more often because buses only run every half an hour, which is a challenge for some people. This could help people get to work and school faster and more easily. With a few more improvements , Rossington could be even better and more exciting for residents.

Wheatley and Wheatley Hills

Wheatley is a cozy village near the centre of Doncaster. It has plenty of transportation opportunities, such as: lots of bus stops, a long cycle path that runs down Thorne road, and a large handful of winding roads that lead to a variety of comfortable, beautiful houses. Wheatley is roughly a 5-10 minute drive, 10-15 by bus, and about a 20-25 minute walk from Doncaster city centre. It’s a genuinely nice place with many options for food, drinks and sports. It has a peaceful, cheerful, sometimes loud community but overall, it’s a lovely place for someone who likes a private, undisturbed home. It’s a great place to visit because of the small play park, cafés, and handful of homey shops to get different foods from across the world (for example: Chinese food, Indian food, Mexican food). It’s a lovely place with a variety of fishing lakes, and local community spaces. As well as this, there’s a statue to remind us of Wheatley’s harvesting history. Wheatley has a handful of useful services. Around a 5-10 minute walk from the centre of Wheatley is the NHS (National Health Service) building, the A&E, children’s hospital, and women’s hospital. Close to the centre of Wheatley, there’s a couple of cozy community churches, and a boxing gym/club for people, especially children, who live nearby to get easy access to a hobby or exercise. There’s also a couple of local primary schools for children who live in the area to have access to a good education. There’s a mini grass football pitch that is open until 10pm too, which is available for everyone. These services help to make Wheatley a socially well-developed and physically well-developed area. Wheatley also has quite a few beautiful spaces for people to enjoy. For example, along the outskirts of the village, along Thorne road, the cycle path/main path) is a great place to go for a walk with cottages on one side, bright trees and grass on the other. If you keep following the same path straight ahead, you’ll find Sandall Park: a large, stunning park with a small café and three exciting play areas, along with two small car parks if you want to visit there. Finally, there’s also a friendly pub just a short walk away from the park called ‘The Wheatley Hotel’. It’s a homely three-star hotel that multi-functions as a restaurant and a neighbourhood pub. All of these appealing scenes and sights make Wheatley a great place to visit, even if it’s not the first place that you’d think of when you hear Doncaster. These places also make an inclusive, welcoming feeling, in that there’s a place for everyone, even if you’re just a visitor. Every structure in Wheatley is significant because they support the increase in the quality of people’s lives with the variety of ways to stay active, and ways to join a private religious community. As well as this, it also gives people a chance to feel a sense of pride in where they live because of how all-round the services are. For example, for young people: the boxing club, park, and the two schools. These all give young people a good chance for education and early fitness/hobbies. Furthermore, Wheatley’s buildings and community services help to make it stay friendly, supportive and welcoming for everyone. Despite Wheatley’s substantial amount of strengths, there could be a handful of things that could be introduced to improve the community. For example, a youth club for any young people who need a place to relax and take a moment to talk to someone if they need that support. This could be extremely beneficial for the wellbeing and mental health of young people in Doncaster as well as provide them with more opportunities. Another idea is a care home for all the older people (seniors, people with disabilities, etc.) who can’t or struggle to take care of themselves without constant support from a family member, neighbour or nurse. With these few improvements, Wheatley could grow and become an amazing, safe, friendly-to-all village.

Barnby Dunn

Barnby Dun is a dainty, appealing village and civil parish in Doncaster, located around 20 minutes (by car) from Doncaster City Centre, and it lays snugly between Stainforth, Kirk Sandall and Arksey. The nearest train station is in Kirk Sandall and is around a ten minute walk from Barnby Dun. There are a variety of bus stops around the village to access many bus routes. Barnby Dun isn’t as well-known as it deserves to be, which is why you should pay a visit! Not only is it easily accessible, but it offers a scenic, fun-filled and overall phenomenal experience. From the Farm Shop to the Park, it really is a wonderful place to be. Barnby Dun offers many services that are easily accessible due to the village being (physically) very small; these services aid your health, entertainment and needs. First of all, there is the Doctor’s Office and pharmacy, which benefit you because they support any health problems or concerns you may have. To support the younger generations, there is Barnby Dun Primary Academy, a school that educates ages 3-11, and many people whose children attended the school have praised the school for wonderful teaching and amazing outcomes in their child’s education. Additionally, there is a farm shop which offers you fresh food from local farms, and there are many budget friendly shopping alternatives within the village such as Spar and Morrisons. If you are looking for family/ community events, Barnby Dun park and Barnby Dun Community Centre hold many events such as car boot sales and family fairs that are amazing for bonding as a community. As well as social structures, there are many physical structures that will create an even more breath-taking visit. A beautiful start is the canal route, because it is not only good for your mental and physical well-being, but it’s also good for family time and admiring the many natural beauties you will come across along the way. Alongside the canal is the St Peter and St Paul church. Its intricate, enticing details will not fail to impress, and its occasional markets and art galleries, such as the Barnby Dun Art Festival that happens annually in August, will draw you in and add onto the many unique scenes of Barnby Dun. Another outstandingly gorgeous place is the Hart of Barnby Dun, a cosy, local, beautifully decorated bar that offers many delicious treats and drinks, and amazing customer service. It offers many food options such as fresh pizzas, fries and even cheesecake! Nestled next to the Farm Shop, Tractor Shed cafe offers many beautiful meals and drinks, whether you’re popping in for a snack, a drink or a nice drink. These structures ,such as the church and the farm shop, are vital as they help people to feel safer and build a sense of community and home within Barnby Dun. The social structures, such as the doctor’s office and school, create a greater future for not only the younger generations, but everyone, therefore making Barnby Dun an inclusive community. Physical structures benefit the community as they draw people in and create a sense of pride for the residents. Although other villages may have similar structures, none of them do it like Barnby Dun. As I have mentioned, Barnby Dun has a vast amount of positives, yet just like any other place, there are some things that could be improved. First of all, I think that a more accessible variety of shops would be better as the nearest supermarket is Aldi in Kirk Sandall, which the distance can vary depending on where in Barnby Dun you live. Next, they could make more transport routes in the village, which they have partially acted upon but it could also be improved even further. Overall, I think that Barnby Dun is a wonderful place and you should deeply consider visiting. Thank you for taking your time to read this and I hope it has introduced you to a new area of Doncaster you may have never heard of!

Haxey

Haxey is a large rural village not too far from Doncaster that has a symbolic history and people. It is approximately a 30 minute drive from Doncaster city centre but unfortunately has no train stations but has many bus stops. The 398 bus routes connect Haxey to Doncaster, Gainsborough and the A614 with ease. Haxey is bordered by Westwoodside and Low Burnham granting easy access to Epworth and Doncaster. Haxey has an intriguing history spanning 700 years! There's a festival, known as the Haxey Hood, that happens every year where we gather in the streets and have a tussle in the fields to win! This has even been featured in newspaper articles. Haxey Hood happens yearly on the 5/6th of January, it starts with gathering on Church Street (a road in Haxey) forming a crowd around the main figures of Haxey Hood (more formarily known as the Fool, the Lord and the Boggins) and does the ‘smoking of the Fool’ and announces, upon the mounting stone, the rules and when it will begin. After that the tussle starts, we all go on Tower hill and the residents of Westwoodside, Low Burnham and East Lound go up against residents of Haxey in one massive tussle for a rolled up strip of leather called the Hood. If the Hood is brought back to the village's Hood pub then they win. The rules to the Hood are no running with it and no throwing it. There are lots of beautiful views of the countryside. The best time of year in Haxey is the cold winter as it becomes very cozy and the locals have an amazing Christmas spirit. There is a decent amount of accommodation in Haxey. Pubs like the Loco and the Kings Arms, or if you want to have a meal there's the Duke and The Saffron or maybe you want a haircut at Jame’s Barbers. Haxey is there for you! Haxey is a very charming village with the sound of church bells never leaving you with an empty day! Make sure to visit Haxey’s Saint Nicolas church because it's a real sight to see! Social structures play a giant part in the soul of our town so things like the Haxey Hood are very important. When it comes to holidays no one does it better than Haxey. Although, we may not be the best at Halloween, when it comes to Christmas it's like a Winter Wonderland. Due to Haxey being in the countryside of North Lincolnshire we get a lot of snow which just adds to the cozy festiveness of winter. There may be a lot that Haxey has to offer but there are some things that are needed like a local hospital because sometimes you need more than just a pharmacy or maybe a shopping centre because Doncaster and Sheffield are just a little too far. All of these would increase the enjoyability of Haxey but it is just as good without.

Wheatley

Welcome to Wheatley. Wheatley is located near the river Don. There are many different house types including detached, semi detached, terrace and bungalows. This suggests that there are family friendly and affordable houses. Wheatley is not far from the city centre; it is approximately a ten minute drive and about fifteen minutes on a bus. There are many buses you can get into Wheatley including 376 Long Sandall, 383 Wheatley hall road, 384 Kirk sandall, 387 Moorends and 388 Stainforth. This means that there are many accessible ways to get into Wheatley. Where can you hang out? Wheatley has lots of different places to help with making friends and socialising. An example of one is, the 3 parks like sandel park and grow garden which have great places to hang out and they help by bringing people together to play or just enjoying the lake and nature. As well as this we have a hospital which rescues, and helps people. The hospital is very close which is great because in a bad situation it is very close. Another benefit is that we have a shopping centre which helps by having everything you need from. We have lots of different schools like our lady of mount carmel dance schools ( Ibetson school of dance)and boxing/karate schools which can bring people together with the lessons. Wheatley has lots of different buildings and places with beautiful, scenic and astonishing scenery. For example, we have not 1 but 3 parks. The parks are great not only because they have beautiful places but also because they bring everyone together no matter the age. For example they make running groups . The biggest park is Sandal Park. It has 3 play areas in it for all ages. The park is great for all ages even if you don't want to play because you can just walk around the lake and different places you can visit in it. As well as this, the schools get all the kids together. Structures are like the lungs to our society; without them it wouldn't be complete. They are established to cater to our needs like socialising, boosting our confidence, excitement, health and education. Therefore they are a vital part of our everyday life and also improves the quality of standard life. It can even offer benefits to future generations if they are upheld. Many structures are heritages and remainders of ancient history (such as the St Mary’s Church and Lock at Strawberry Lock), which is an everyday reminder of what makes up our amazing town. Although Wheatley provides many amenities, there are still things that could improve our town. In my opinion, a place for Theatre and Arts would be an impacting adjustment ( in a positive way). This way, people could embrace their talents and true passion which is how this addition could benefit people like performers and youth groups; these people are ready to take upon this new addition if it was to be established. Many people would be looking forward to this idea, so acting upon people's wishes will bring even more enjoyment to our society. Overall, Wheatley offers a life that is fulfilling and great to visit so feel free to take a step into the lovely abode for a better exciting life.

Skellow

Welcome to Skellow ,these are two small villages that are adjacent(very close together). Skellow and carcroft are both 10-15 minutes (by car) from the town centre. By car is the most direct route ,however by public transport they are 30-40 minutes away. The close east moter way being the A1 that runs through the west of both Skellow and carcroft.the 351 and 361 are the most regular buses that go through the two villages the most.Skellow and carcroft are most known for their pubs such are forest arms and the bull Croft officials club. Skellow and Carcroft's appreciable attitude to visitors are honourable. Would you like to visit? The areas of skellow and carcroft feature several historically significant and axing structures, these structures are mostly in the old Skellow conservation area Skellow hall-this structure is a historic country Manor House built in the 1642 that is now a children’s home ,this structure is also known as a base for Oliver Cromwell during the civil war The butter cross-this structure is a type of medieval market cross doing in English towns ,built in market square to provide a shelter for vendors selling dairy products like bitter, milk and eggs Old stone walling-this structure is a traditional construction that uses the weight and skill full placement of natural stones to create the stable, self supporting walls Church of saint micheal-this structure is the only church in then village, holds diverse services ,and is used for community activities, making it a central hub for both sports and social life Structures are important in society because they help many people stay social and healthy. When a town has many different structures like parks , schools , pubs and pharmacies it gives everyone a chance to stay social. It can also make people feel really happy and proud about where they live. For younger people clubs and parks can keep them social and help them stay safer. Children without these structures might feel cut off from the world around them and they might also feel like they are locked in the house when they're not. Although skellow has so much to offer there's still so much there's so much to improve. But some of the stuff is a social club which adults go there to connect and befriend others, have drinks and even book it out for a party or anything you really want. A child friendly place is the scouts that is just outside of Skellow where they do different activity for each time of year and parties for children between the ages of 8-18.

Scawthorpe

Scawthorpe is a tiny place on the suburbs of Doncaster, but it has a big sense of community. Located only 3 miles away from the City Centre, you get a quiet suburb, with strong links to all the action. Travelling to Scawthorpe is quite easy, since Bentley’s nearby train station is only a few minutes’ walk from the main centre of Scawthorpe. The M18 and the A1(M) are the closest motorways to get here—M18 for the east and the A1 for the west. Scawthorpe has always been a key place, sitting between Bentley and the Roman Ridge ward. It was also where many Bentley pit workers lived, because the mine was only a few minutes’ walk away. Once you arrive in Scawthorpe, you will feel a very strong sense of community - with lots of Scawthorpians spending time to volunteer to make their area better. Scawthorpe is a very social place - we must make sure that the community keeps thriving. Some of this includes Scawthorpe social club, a place that has live music and activities where people can go out and have a nice time. There are two forms of education in Scawthorpe: Don Valley Academy: A Secondary Academy Castle Hill: Scawthorpe’s only primary school. Scawthorpe is a popular place for families with large varieties of green spaces, where many people go as family or with friends. Another great structure is Scawthorpe community centre which hosts many activities, either privately or for the public. There are things like food festivals and the Christmas tree light-up that happens every year, which brings the community together. As well as having supermarket shops like Heron Foods, and corner shops such as the SPAR for buying essentials like food, it also has services like hairdressers and takeaways - ideal for a treat. There is also a nearby pharmacy/doctors making it convenient for all the local people who may need to use these services. Structures help our community because they give people a sense of belonging and support. For kids, there is a boxing club, a football team, and a dancing team. These give children opportunities to make friends and get out of their comfort zone. Without structures, communities would feel sad, lonely, and isolated, because people wouldn’t have support, friendship, or anything to take part in. This is what makes Scawthorpe the very strong community everyone knows it for.

Balby

Balby may not be the first place you think of when Doncaster comes to mind, but it has a lot to offer. It covers a large area of Doncaster and is only a 6-minute drive or a 15–20 minute bus ride from the City Centre. Buses to Doncaster include the X3, 315, 221, 372/373, 378, X2 and 316. Balby has a friendly community with many places to meet people, and although it may not suit everyone, it is a lively, spacious and historic part of the city. Community groups and volunteer organisations bring neighbours together through events, workshops and celebrations, creating a strong sense of belonging. Transport improvements have made it easier for residents to access work, school and services across Doncaster. Balby offers many important facilities, such as St John’s Group Practice, known for its helpful and friendly GP services, and St Catharine’s, which supports people with educational needs as well as those with mental health difficulties. St Catharine’s is also home to the Woodfield Squash Club, which hosts competitions and social events for all ages throughout the year. Balby also has a Choose Fitness gym, helping residents stay active, and a Lidl for everyday shopping. The area reflects Doncaster’s blend of old and modern architecture. Across the town, brick houses, suburban neighbourhoods, industrial buildings and warehouses show Doncaster’s history as both a trading centre and an industrial hub. In Balby, notable buildings include St Peter’s Church and its nearby cemetery, as well as the abandoned yet striking Alder Grove Methodist Church. Balby also has the Warmsworth Res park, a large green space with a playground. One of Balby’s most iconic landmarks is the 200-foot “PEGLERS” chimney, built in 1935 as part of Peglers Bros. & Company, which specialised in brass fittings for steam services. Its huge white lettering and towering brick structure make it impossible to miss. Structures like schools, health centres, churches, gyms and shops all play a role in bringing the community together and improving quality of life. While Balby is small and can sometimes feel quiet, its facilities give people of all ages opportunities to stay active, healthy and connected. Above all, Balby’s greatest strength is its caring and welcoming community, full of friendly people and interesting stories. Despite its many positives, Balby could still improve. More sports teams and youth clubs would benefit young people by supporting their physical and mental wellbeing, helping them learn new skills, make friends and stay engaged. Youth clubs would also provide a safe, fun space for children who don’t enjoy sports. With a few more additions, Balby could become an even more enjoyable place to live. The best towns are those that keep improving to meet the needs of their residents.

Balby

Balby is a town between Edlinton and Frenchgate. Heck, even a road is named after the beautiful place which is very accessible via bus which passes through often, every 5 to 15 minutes. This is very concenient and makes it easy to get from place to place. Balby has a good range of services to help local people. These services include a gym, doctors, shops, pubs, schools, parks and a Woodfield Park community hall. Woodfield’s Park is beautiful because it has stunning views and it is a nice, calming environment. The people there are also very friendly so if you're looking for a friend, that's the place to be! We have lots of other natural areas that are beautiful and well kept. These places such as our parks are very important for our community and very meaningful as they show the natural beauty of Balby. Balby has lots of places that help people. Shops, care homes and health care centre. The large Tesco supermarket helps happy families buy their weekly food shop. There is also a pharmacist so people can get medication for them and their families. There are also vets where you can take your animals when they need medical attention. The white church's history is unique because it is a grade 2 building listed for its distinctive whitewashed appearance and a large dome. Our churches also host many events. The churches also have a free food service that is run by volunteers. These structures are important to everyone in our community. Everyone needs access to health care and their beliefs. Even though Balby is a great town with many great structures everywhere, we could improve our area with some more libraries. Due to there not being many libraries in our area There needs to be a skatepark because at my local park there are no skateparks and the parks need to be safer so young people have more to do after school.

Owston Ferry

Owston Ferry (pronounced Oh-stun) is a small, riverside village rich in Nordic History. The word “Owston” comes from Scandinavia meaning “East farmstead.” It was originally marsh until the land was bought by Cornelius Vermuyden who drained it using dikes. This charming village borders the west bank of the river Trent. The village used to be a tourist stop for ferry travellers, however, the port is no longer used. It’s the ideal location for a holiday, picnic or just look around. With two pubs, a smithing museum, a pumping station and a park. It’s a treasure trove for all ages. Owston Ferry has many attractions: a park, two pubs, a church, pumping station museum, smithing museum, castle hill and plenty of dog walking routes, so if you want to bring your four-legged friends to this charming place, Ferry is your dog's best friend. Owston Ferry’s park is a good way for your kids to let off some steam, with swings, slides, climbing equipment and a big open field/football pitch. You can bring a football, cricket set, rounders set - or your children - for a play about. Owston Ferry has many gorgeous buildings such as St.Martin’s church, the Lancaster Bomber War Memorial and The Crooked Billet. St Martins church has many things to offer. The stained glass murals in the windows, the availability of christenings and weddings and frequent church services every Sunday. The War Memorial. The War Memorial is made of a beautifully polished pink granite with a timeless black marble plaque in which names of local heroes are engraved in gold. This handsome monument is tucked away but truly pays tribute to everyone who gave up their life so you can visit this stunning village. The Crooked Billet is a cosy pub/inn popular with the locals and gently competing with the White Hart. The building dates back to the early eighteenth century and has stood the test of time (and the River Trent, on which bank it sits on.) This beauty is a staple in this North Lincolnshire community. The White Hart is the other pub in Ferry. The White Hart was established later in 1854 so doesn’t have as much history as the Billet but has still witnessed the rise and fall of Ferry when it was a port-town. The White Hart was built further down the river bank compared to the Billet but it’s a two minute walk between the two. Both pubs have been built on a strategic area, being on the Trent-bankside both pubs have the honour of witnessing the Trent Aegiar, a tidal bore that’s forced upstream due to reverse currents. This phenomena compliments the beauty of the village and you may be able to see it if you’re lucky enough. Another place to sneak-a-peek is castle hill. This is currently merely a hill now, but it was a castle. The castle (formally known as Kinnard’s Ferry Castle) was demolished by King Henry ll ,in 1174, following his son’s rebellion against him. The structures in Owston Ferry play a massive role in the community’s heart. The local school is a way for children to make friends and build bonds; the church is a way for anyone religious to show respect to God, and express themselves. Both pubs are a merge of Victorian architecture and modern customs that bring friends, families and other guests for drinks, sports or socialising and the park is a commute for everyone! The buildings in Ferry provide structure, stability, and repetition for the locals who need it. Owston Ferry is a gorgeous, charming and homely little village but there is always room for improvement. If there was a Co-op or more small shops it would mean the villagers wouldn’t need to go so far. Bike routes or walking paths would also go noticed and would very much be used by the younger generation and more sporting activities so people can get out and stay fit and healthy. However, a more tranquil idea would be a library and more use of the village hall would be appreciated, because it’s something else for people to do. Both villages (Haxey and Epworth) are within biking distance of Owston Ferry but it’s not the most convenient.

Wadworth

Have you ever wondered what heaven is like? Come to Wadworth! A village where all your dreams could come true. Our delightful school is convenient as your kids will be ready for anything. Gaze in awe at the beauty of the architecture used to build the homes, which are some of the finest in the country. Come down to the White Hart and have a delicious roast or a drink at the bar with games like pool and darts. There are some fantastic social structures in Wadworth. Slacks Butchers provides the richest and juiciest meat fresh from their farm next-door from bacon to lamb chops. Your tongue will be blessed! Wadworth Primary School will give your children the brightest education, leaving them with skills for life. Being a big part of the community is the most important thing for our primary school every year. They have a school festival called the Maypole, where parents watch their children perform a series of dances, carrying on the tradition which has been running for over fifty years. In Wadworth, there are many beautiful sites. The church is a real work of art. Join the church club and help the community by doing services like litter picking and carolling. The village is surrounded by picturesque countryside stretching for miles. Its like an island surrounded by a grass ocean. The village has dog walk calming lanes to provide for your canine friends. There is an overall warm feeling from the village lights and the mouth watering smell of the food. The community all help each other showing true community spirit. We are still one of the few villages with a functioning post office, so no more driving miles for a parcel. Feeling down? Come and visit the community hall and participate in the services that make you feel better, such as carolling and cleaning up the village. Our residents want to make Wadworth a supportive place, which is why we have various care homes and residential care services to support the elderly. Although Wadworth is an outstanding village, there are some improvements to be made. I think a gym would be a huge improvement as it would bring good physical health and mental health to the residents of the village because currently. The closest gym is 4.4 miles away. I hope this guide to my hometown encourages you to explore my village and experience the sweet charm of Wadworth.

New Rossington

New Rossington is in South Yorkshire. In New Rossington there are pharmacies, a police station, a fire station, a dentist and doctors. These are important places because these places save lives. Also it is very rare to have multiple facilities in one small village. New Rossington is in the city of Doncaster. New Rossington is known for their mining history. We have a mining memorial with the date 1913 on one side and 1915 on the reverse. This links to the mining in Barnsley too. We also have homes and other buildings built on top of the mines. This means the area has a new purpose. Also we have lots of churches in Rossington. The area is surrounded by woods and we have a lake by that’s close to the M18 .The lakes next to Annebelle's have fish in but during winter the lake freezes over which makes fishing impossible. The churches are quite medieval looking whereas some others are quite new and modern. They are a great place to go if you want to worship. There are some structureds in place to help the needy. For example the library are used for commujity groups and a meeting space. This helps to prevent people from being lonely and give people a place to meet new people or take part in new or existing hobbies. In New Rossington we need more bin collections because they come out every three weeks just for one colour bin. We need more of them so we don’t overfill our bins and they get emptied the same bin the same day. We also need more police because we only have five units in Doncaster and we need more people to help us catch criminals because we have to wait for police from town centre to get more units. This would improve the strucutres in our community.

Doncaster City Centre

Doncaster city centre is a fairly big and highly historical place from its train stations to structures that aren’t open to the public anymore but contain significance on how we operated in the past. It is located right in the middle of Doncaster. Containing many shops and options of transport, it gives easy access and a lot of reasons to come. The forms of public transport are Trains, Buses and Taxis; it also contains a carpark for those who need to transport items easier. The trains run everyday and come to the station at specific times however sometimes trains are cancelled which can be a struggle. The city centre also includes a few green spaces and water fountains outside the railway station. It’s a quite clean space, giving many amenities that allocate to your needs. We have cleaners that come regularly, especially in shops and public utilities. Even if the weather isn’t great all the time, it still represents who we are as a city and community. Not only does the City Centre have a great community it also has a few social structures that provide wellbeing and a lot of activities to do. This includes the Railway station and Frenchgate. Both contain huge amounts of history from the outside to inside. You can see this from the fact both structures are and look quite old. Starting with the railway station, it offers cheap and fast transportation whilst also providing activity booklets for children and on board snacks; even full meals. The history behind it is immaculate. Doncaster was the city to build the Flying Scotsman. Then there's Frenchgate, this huge shopping centre gives fashion, food, beauty and trinkets. Not only that but it is also named after the French Normans when they came and settled in England but also the word gate comes from the old Danish word ‘gata’ meaning street. Just outside Frenchgate, but still in the City Centre, is St George’s Minster. It is probably one of the oldest structures here, being built in 1854-1858, and the most detailed structure. From its archways with all different patterns to the beautiful artwork inside, it makes itself a warming and welcoming place for anyone. It grants Christians and other religions a place of prayer and safety to share the words of the Bible securely with no problems. Aside from that it holds events at Christmas where anyone is free to go sing carols, completely free of charge, it gives space for communities and groups looking for a building to hold their own happenings. Outside the Church is an extensive green space which is great for picnics in summer. The Flying Scotsman was previously mentioned but now this will be a detailed paragraph on what it is but also why structures, both physical and social structures, are important to communities. The Flying Scotsman is our local Doctors and Pharmacist, however it is also a train that was built right here in Donacaster. The Doctors supply people with free checkups, medicine and hygiene products until you are 18 and if you are a citizen of England. This shows how fortunate we are to have this rather than it being ages away and not being able to help yourself. Overall, structures are highly significant, being places where we can go for safety, fun and necessities. Not only do they show these points, it also shows how a community can grow to be as heartfelt as Doncaster City Centre. Even though the City Centre has a substantial amount of social and physical structures there is one, maybe more, structure we could add. This could be a care home as coming from a personal experience it took about an hour to get to the nearest one which made it very difficult to visit the person there. So if we had a local one I think it would help a lot of struggling families that don’t have much access to transportation, not only would it help families but it would reduce carbon commissions, helping pollution. Just imagine if your parents or grandparents could be local to you, it would improve the amount of distance you would normally travel for them. Now, you can help with this too, if you come up with any ideas on what the City Centre could have to help improve our community. Here's how you can help. Public petitions, contacting your local MP for your area; In this case it would be Sally Jameson, calling in as they have an open call system or lastly you can use social media. Thank you for reading this and I hope you enjoyed the guide of Doncaster City Centre and enjoyed the place itself. The community shows itself off here and it’s wonderful.
