Mental Health Issues

Normal emotions can turn into a mental health issue when they continue for a long time and impact different parts of a person's life
It is important to remember that only a health professional can diagnose a mental health issue. We need to keep that in mind when looking at our own emotions and when observing others.
When somebody has anxiety they can be dealing with a lot of stress and worry that lasts a long time. It greatly affects their daily life and the people around them.

Dealing With Big Feelings

Sometimes when it comes to tests or a big sports game we can feel some big feelings!

What are some ways to deal with these feelings?

Name It To Tame It!

When you notice you're feeling a big feeling, name it out loud or in your head!

Positive Distractions

Distract yourself by going for a walk, colouring, listening to some music, or talking with people you like!

- Put one hand on your belly and one on your chest-Breathe in for 3 seconds and feel your belly rise -Breathe out for 3 seconds and feel your belly fall

The best way is to use coping strategies! Coping strategies are like superpowers that you can use to handle big feelings.

Think positively, have fun, and enjoy the company of others

Eating a healthy diet filled with fruits, veggies, whole grains, nuts and seeds
