Also, the record labels who franchised these artists like Sun Studio and Stax records played a major role in Memphis music’s culture. This genre of music combined elements of blues , gospel , and country music to create a whole new sound that took over the early 50’s. Memphis music scene had an phenomenal cultural impact because it merged African and European music traditions leading to the rise of rock and roll.
