VENUS

Surface and Climate

  • Venus' terrain is dominated by volcanic activity and the moving of tectonic plates, just like earth.
  • Venus has a very thick atmosphere, making the pressure incredibly high and causing a greenhouse effect on the planet which makes it unbelievably hot.
  • Venus stays around the same temperature of about 400 degrees fareinheit but can fluctuate to be even higher.
  • Venus has a very slight tilt of about 3 degrees, making seasons not very different from one another.

01/10

Must-haves

  • You must have a space suit that can protect you from the dangerous temperatures and high pressures of Venus.
  • You will need the habitat you are staying in to be strong enough to protect you from the crushing pressure on the outside.
  • You will need an oxygen tank for the atmosphere in Venus is made up of mostly acids; you will also want a mask to protect you from inhaling these acids.
  • You will need a good enough supply of food and water for there will be none on the planet.

03/10

Major Attractions

  • Venus contains no moon but does have a quasi-satellite, which is an asteroid that orbits the sun but stays close to the sun, which was named the Zoozve.
  • Venus is filled with valleys and mountains that are covered in volcanoes.
  • There are two more important mountains: the Ishtar Terra and the Aphrodite Terra that stretch along the equator.
  • It has a Tesserae layer, a layer with ridges and grooves that make it seem as if the hot temperatures have melted the stone.

04/10

Tours and Activities

  • You can climb the many volcanoes located on Venus' surface and research the differences between them.
  • You can test the Tessarae region and figure out exactly why it has the pattern it does.
  • You can stargaze and try to find the quasi-satellite, Zoozve.
  • You can explore the two different kinds of domes, pancake domes and tick domes, which are results from the lava from volanoes.
