Objectives

• Become aware of the hazards associated with using a telescopic mast forklift;

• Differentiate between types of forklifts and recognize their components;

• Assess the stability of a load and its weight;

• Interpret a lifting capacity chart;

• Define the lifting limits of the forklift;

• Recognize the stability limits of the forklift when moving and during load lifting;

• Familiarize with regulatory and normative frameworks;

• Apply general safety rules.

Objectives

• Get started with forklift driving and load handling under the supervision of a qualified instructor.

• Benefit from a sufficient duration to become familiar with the equipment as an inexperienced operator or to allow the instructor to validate the participant's skills who claims to have some experience.

This course provides an introduction to the principles and regulations regarding the operation of a telescopic forklift.A qualified person should identify, assess, and control hazards and adequately inform the operator on how to safely perform tasks at heights using a telescopic forklift at the workplace.Similarly, all individuals should receive additional training before using equipment with a rotating turret function.Additional training should be provided by the person representing the employer and responsible for evaluating specific hazards at the workplace.
