- l'educazione é universale,infatti tutti studiano, indipendentemente dal sesso o dal ruolo
- lo studio fa parte della vita quotidiana coincidono e solo pochi sono esenti dal lavoro
Sapienza antica e dottrina nuova
"non avevano pur udito il nome di quei filosofi, che sono di qua illustri; nondimeno essi hanno trovato in musica, logica, aritmetica e matematica quasi le istesse cose, che trovarono i nostri antichi. Ma siccome ragguagliano quasi in ogni cosa gli antichi, così colle nuove invenzioni di logica sono molto inferiori: perchè non hanno niuna regola delle restrizioni, amplificazioni e supposizioni trovate acutamente nella logica, che tra noi da fanciulli s’impara. "
- studiano la scienza, musica, logica, aritmetica e matematica nella loro lingua nazionale, ma non studiano la filosofia, ed infatti sono molto arretrati nel campo logico di essa rispetto a noi, poiché non possiedono le restrizioni o supposizioni nella logica individuate da Aristotele.
La conoscenza degli Utopiani
- Non possiedono la concezione di uomo come universale e comune in tutte le cose non impegnandosi nella ricerca della natura dall'uomo, sintomo del fatto che non si siano soffermati nello studio della logica aristotelica ,come il passare dal generale al particolare e supposizioni che possano portare a qualcosa di più ampio. Eccellono nell’astronomia , conoscendo il movimento delle stelle e dei pianeti.ignorando l’astrologia divinatoria

La passione degli Utopiani per la lingua e la cultura greca
- Quando Raffaele Itlodeo insegna loro la letteratura greca, essi mostrano grande entusiasmo e desiderio di apprendere. Imparano a leggere e scrivere in greco,e in soli tre anni, riescono a leggere i testi classici. Itlodeo nota anche che la loro lingua contiene molte parole di origine greca, segno di un’antica parentela linguistica.
