Muscle Stretch Reaction
- A positive test indicates dysfunction between the muscle and its fascia
- Indications to test include:
- Muscle is shortened
- Local or reffered pain
- Poor funciton in associated organ or gland
- When a normal muscle is stretched and retested, it tests strong
- A positive reaction will result in the muscles testing weaker after the stretch
- Must be strong in the clear
- Be careful not to stretch to vigorously
Fascial Release
- Treatment:
- Deep massage in the direction of flow of the local vessels
- Avoid damage to one way valves in veins and lymph
- Re-test after treatment
- Support
- Neurolymphatic and neurovascular reflexes
- Normally, muscle and its surrounding fascia should be the same length and function together
- Muscle is shortened in its resting position
- Causes limited range of motion
