Travel Guide to Mars

The Red Planet and Home of Mount Olympus!

go!

Summary

Mars is the fourth planet in our solar system and is often referred to as the red planet. It is a dry, cold, desert landscape, offering sights of large craters, basins, and mountains. It is known to be one of the easiest planets to spot in the night sky.

Mars's Landscape is rocky and barren

Visiting Mars

The red glint in our sky seems to be one of the more reasonable planets in our solar system to visit. although the atmosphere would not be able to habitate life naturally, its possible to step foot on the surface with proper protection.

The surface has a reddish tint due to the iron in the rocks oxidizing!

Olympus Mons is a dome volcano that is the tallest mountain in the solar system!

Mars's atmosphere is thin, and is not breathable. Often times red dust storms cloud the skies for days at a time.

Mars's surface offers sights of vast desert landscapes, the highest mountains in our solar system, deep craters, and most specially dry basins. Millions of years ago, when Mars was warmer, water existed, and there is evidence for it all over the planet. Scientists believe that evidence of life could be found inside basins found on Mars.

Destination Overview

Mars is a stunning planet within our solar system, being one of the only planets we have substantially mapped with rovers over the decades, and one of the few planets to very likely have supported life in the past. However today, its barren, and cold environment has no means to support life on its own; this makes travelling to mars very difficult. You would need to plan a year long voyage with a vessel capable of exiting mars's gravity to return home. Its likely you would survive on the surface of mars with nothing but a spacesuit, gravity would be much lower than on earth and offer quite an experience.
