Let's read a story about Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Click on the book to get started.
Once upon a time, there was a family of bears who lived in a cozy little house in the middle of the woods. There was Papa Bear, who was big and gruff; Mama Bear, who was medium-sized and sweet; and Baby Bear, who was small and always cheerful. One morning, Mama Bear made a big pot of delicious porridge for breakfast. It was too hot to eat right away, so the three bears decided to take a walk in the forest while it cooled. Soon after they left, a little girl named Goldilocks came skipping by. She had long, golden hair that shimmered in the sunlight. When she saw the little cottage, she peeked inside. Even though no one answered her knock, Goldilocks decided to walk right in—which was a very naughty thing to do!
In the kitchen, Goldilocks saw the three bowls of porridge on the table. First, she tasted the porridge in Papa Bear's big bowl. "Oh! This porridge is too hot!" she exclaimed. Next, she tried the porridge in Mama Bear's medium bowl. "Yuk! This porridge is too cold!" Finally, she tasted the porridge in Baby Bear's small bowl. "Mmm," she sighed happily. "This porridge is just right!" And she ate every bit of it. Feeling tired, Goldilocks walked upstairs. She found three beds waiting for her.
She tried Papa Bear's big bed. "This bed is too high at the head!" She tried Mama Bear's medium bed. "This bed is too lumpy!" Finally, she snuggled into Baby Bear's small bed. "This bed is just right," she whispered, and she quickly fell fast asleep. Just then, the three bears came home from their walk. They immediately noticed something was wrong. In the kitchen, Papa Bear said in his great, gruff voice, "Someone's been eating my porridge!" Mama Bear said in her sweet, medium voice, "Someone's been eating my porridge!" And Baby Bear cried in his tiny, squeaky voice, "Someone's been eating my porridge, and they ate it all up!"
The three bears hurried upstairs to the bedroom.Papa Bear looked at his bed and growled, "Someone's been sleeping in my bed!" Mama Bear looked at hers and said, "Someone's been sleeping in my bed!" Then, Baby Bear looked at his tiny bed and cried, "Someone's been sleeping in my bed, and here she is!" Goldilocks woke up with a start! She saw the three bears staring down at her. She was so scared that she leaped out of the bed, jumped out the window, and ran as fast as her legs could carry her all the way back home. And Goldilocks never, ever visited the house of the three bears again!

Toads are often confused with frogs, but they are a little different! Toads usually have dry, bumpy skin that helps them live away from the water for longer than most frogs. They are known for their short, squat bodies and their short hops, instead of the long jumps frogs make. Toads eat small insects, like flies and worms, and they catch them with a fast, sticky tongue. A cool fact is that toads have special glands behind their eyes that can release a mild poison to stop other animals from eating them, so it's best to look but not touch!
