Industrial Revolution Game
The year is 1850. You are 15 years old, the child of a sheep farmer and a stay-at-home mother with seven other children. You live in the rural countryside. Your father keeps sheep and a small wheat plot.
Unfortunately, due to the Enclosure Acts, or enclosing fields and giving them to a select few farmers, your father was forced to give his land to another farmer. Your now disgraced and displaced father has to move to London, where he found a job in the mine, and you a factory job. You now have to travel by train and boat to reach London.
At your local train station, you are approached by a man named Eduardo the Traveler, and asks you a question
While inside the locomotive, Carlos the Conductor comes and talks to you and asks you a question
As you get closer and closer to London, you meet Yahiza the Grandma, who used to work in a factory back in the 1770s, and asks you to name this invention as she forgot.
You hop off the train in a town called Gravesend, where you now have to catch a steamboat in order to get to London. On the Steamboat, you meet a child named Adrian the Young, who asks:
As you look into the River Thames, an American tourist named comes and talks to you about America. Slavery was still rampant in the US, Amy the curious American asks if you know anything about it
After your encounter with the American, you just want to rest. However, a worried nurse named Alicia comes and is worried you will get sick from Smallpox from all the people in the ship. She asks:
You just want to rest from all the traveling and talking, but your dad got a telegraph message from his brother back in the Gravesend station and wants you to decipher it.

The first you do when you get off the boat is go straight to work, otherwise you would be fired from job. The first person you meet at your factory job is Uriel the Unionist, who fights for better working conditions. Since it is 1850, some laws have been passed to make work safer, but the working conditions are still bad. Uriel the Unionist asks:
On the first day of the job, a child gets their arm stuck in a machine and begs for your help to get them unstuck. Do you?
NO
YES
FIRED
Your boss saw you help the child and fired you for taking an unauthorized break. You now go home disgraced
FIRED
The child dies in front of your eyes. As you vomit from the sight, your boss fires you for being sick. You go home disgraced.
You tell your mother that you got fired from your job, and you tell her about the union member you met earlier. You tell her
You decide you want to join a local union. For 6 years, you have protested and gone on strikes in order to get better work conditions. In 1856, as you turn 21, you are elected into Parliament, where you have the power to vote and pass laws. One of your first major votes was to pass the 1856 Factory Act, which added more safeguards and limited hours for women and children.
It is now 1858, you are a representative, the people are your boss, so you must answer to them. As you walk around London, your constituents, or your bosses, talk to you. On your walk, you meet Navaeh the Nationalist and asks you to describe Nationalism so he can support you. You say:
You continue to walk until Marlon the Conservative stops you and asks you to describe Conservatism. You respond with:
You continue to walk, then another interruption, Jimmy the Liberal comes up and asks you to explain Liberalism. You say:
They go away, and you go about your walk again. Until Sofia the Socialist shows up and asks you what is Socialism. You say
The yapping Socialist finally stops talking and goes away. You continue to walk and are approached by two people, McKenzie the Capitalist and Jared the Communist. They are agruing about Capitalism vs. Communism and ask you
They ask you more questions
They both finally leave, the Capitalism has to go back to work where they work 16 hours a day for $1 a day and the Communist goes home as they are lazy bums who don't work or do anything productive with their lives. Anyways you continue you walk and are met with Gilberto the Romanticist, who asks you about Romanticism. You don't say anything as you are fed up with all the talking and go home.
As you walk home, you begin to vomit and have explosive diarrhea. You remember you drank from a water pump earlier in the day. You remember hearing about John Snow saying that water pumps cause a disease, but you thought he knew nothing. What disease do you have
As the sun sets, you decide to go to the river to get some fresh air. It is the summer of 1858, so you hope it will get cooler come nightfall. As you approach the river you begin to smell something horrible. What thing or event was causing London to smell horrible
You go away from the river into the countryside where you hope to breathe fresh air and not die from Cholera. You see some light up ahead and see its some nightmen (People who clean cesspits or private holes filled with human waste) and go towards them. They're named Isaiah and Isaac they ask you why do people have cesspits. You say:
THE END
Unforunate for you, Isaac the Nightman put his lamp too close to an open cesspit and you explode. You lived a good 23 years.
