Description
ROOM 3
Consists of recreating static scenes related to religion, daily life, literature, current events, legends, or any other theme from collective imagination. It generally takes place in the afternoon or evening in the streets, in an activity known as "dressing the streets," which transforms the space into an open-air art gallery where artists, artworks, critics, and thousands of spectators are immersed in a fascinating universe of creativity and magical realism accompanied by other cultural practices such as rhymes, songs, dance, traditional music, local cuisine, and crafts.

1. Use of natural materials for artistic expression: The decorations and scenes in the event often use materials like wood, clay, flowers, plants, stones, and natural dyes. These resources come directly from Colombia’s diverse ecosystems and reflect the people’s close relationship with nature. By transforming local natural elements into art, communities celebrate both creativity and the richness of their environment. 2. Promotion of sustainable local economies: Many of the traditional crafts, foods, and artworks presented during the event depend on agricultural and ecological resources — such as coffee, cacao, fruits, and fibers like fique or palm. These natural products support artisans, farmers, and local producers, showing how Colombian culture and natural resources are interconnected through sustainability and community livelihoods.

Cultural video:
This video explores Colombia’s rich cultural and artistic heritage, highlighting traditional markets, regional cuisines, music, dance, and visual arts. It shows how communities preserve their intangible heritage—like culinary traditions and local crafts—while also celebrating painting and visual art through exhibitions such as the Salón Internacional de Artistas, which showcases diverse contemporary Colombian and international paintings that reflect culture, identity, and daily life.
