You walk into your pt's room, assess the baby and notice: flexed limbs, no pulse, floppy, pale, not breathing. What is your APGAR score?
You initiate PPV and reassess. Baby now has: flexed limbs, pulse 80, minimal response to stimulation, pink body w/blue extremeties, respirations irregular. What is your APGAR score now?
After 10 minutes of PPV, baby is now: active, pulse 110, prompt response to stimulation, pink body w/blue extremeties, vigorous cry. What is your 10 minute APGAR score?
You stimulate the baby, and reassess. Baby now has: flexed limbs, pulse 67, floppy, pale, respirations slow. What is your APGAR score now?
You continue PPV and reassess. Baby is now: active, pulse 95, minimal response to stimulation, pink body w/blue extremeties, respirations irregular. What is your APGAR score now?
