Higher Level questions: thinking about magic
The Teacher in this video is Clara Gonzalez-Espinoza. She is teaching 5th-grade students. She read the story of Cinderella. The Question she asked was " when did the magic occur? " One student said, "When the Godmother came. " Then the Teacher asked another question, "What did she do?" Another student said, " She said some words." The teacher asked students to repeat the phrase after her. The students were really questioning the magic. They were understanding the story and really questioning why the slippers didn't have magic? The Teacher had students read different versions of the story. She was able to see what the students understood by the way they questioned the story and identified similarities and differences.
