Examples: Youth Programs Option 1 (enter each grade level separately) You teach one lesson at an elementary school to 5 grade levels; it takes 1 hour to teach the lesson, and you have 50 kids in first grade and 65 kids in second grade, etc. For first grade you would enter 1, 1 and 50. For second grade you would enter 1, 1 and 65.

  • Even though you are at the school for a full day of classes, you still only enter 1 hour per lesson, because each child only received 1 hour of your time. Remember, TAMED is about what the participants receive, not what you do as the educator.
You ‘double up’ and teach 2 lessons to your 1st graders, it takes 30 minutes to teach each lesson, and you have 50 1st grade participants that day. You would enter 2, .5 and 50.

Examples: Youth Programs Option 2 (combining all grade levels into one entry) You teach one lesson at an elementary school to all 5 grade levels; it takes 1 hour to teach the lesson (to each grade level), and you have 200 kids total for that day. You would enter 1, 1 and 200.

  • Even though you are at the school for a full day of classes, you still only enter 1 hour per lesson, because each child only received 1 hour of your time. Remember, TAMED is about what the participants receive, not what you do as the educator.
  • Helpful to add in the Activity Title - indicating all the grade levels.
You ‘double up’ and teach 2 lessons to each of the 5 grade levels, it takes 30 minutes to teach each lesson and you have 200 participants that day. You would enter 2, .5 and 200.

Demographic data for your participants should come from: Adult Enrollment forms or Youth Attendance Record (for each lesson)

Finally -- Volunteer breakdown -- enter the number of volunteers that participated in the activity, and the total hours contributed to that specific lesson or day. Note: The # of Adult Volunteers and # of Youth Volunteers refers to the age of the volunteer, not the age of the participants taught. If your volunteer is an adult, you would enter them under Adult Volunteers, if your volunteer is under the age of 18, then enter them under Youth Volunteers.

PROMOTIONAL/INDIRECT EDUCATION ACTIVITIES

  • Promotional/Indirect Education activities are typically done by Agents; however, Educators might do them on occasion in special circumstances.
  • Promotional/Indirect Education activities for EFNEP usually include large presentations to potential program partners and sometimes health fairs.
  • This section is filled out similarly to Planned Educational Activities. Select Human Nutrition as the Program Area at 100% and EFNEP as the Activity Indicator. Agent Plan Name you will select the agent’s Outreach plan.

Is this part of an in-depth program? - select “No”, only EFNEP classes are part of in-depth programs.

In the Activity Details you can fill out the County, Duration in hours, Total Participants, as well as a Summary of the promotional activity (contacts etc.). You can also enter if any volunteers assisted.

TAMED REPORTING SYSTEM LOCKS MONTHLY

TAMED locks on the 7th day of each month after the reporting month ends. This means all data entered for the month before the lock date cannot be changed.

Example:

TAMED REPORTING SYSTEM

  • All EFNEP Educators and Agents are required to report into the TAMED system.
  • See your agent for guidance on when your reports are due each month – they may have a deadline before the 7th so that county reports can also be entered on time.
  • It is recommended that you add activities on a daily or weekly basis to avoid ‘end of the month’ stress.

As you start to work in the TAMED system, refer back to this training and use the TAMED tutorial videos as needed. There is also a Frequently Asked Questions document in Teams and linked in this training.
