To make FL learning more successful, certain teaching methods must be implemented. These methods should combine technology with traditional methods in order to teach students in a more efficient way. Some methods are:
CLIL
PBL
MULTILITERACIES
To apply this method, there is the Task Lesson Plan:
TASK-BASED LEARNING
PRE-TASK
TASK
POST-TASK
Task-Based Learning is a language learning method that placed students in real life situations so they will have to use their knowledge and communication skills in a specific language. Communication is the main competence used in this methodology, as the students will have to engage with different social events. In this method, the teacher should create questions with open or closed solutions, and with one way or two ways of finding those solutions.
CONTENT AND LANGUAGE INTEGRATED LEARNING
CLIL is a language learning method in which different subjects are taught in a language different from the student's native. This help students with the process of learning that language as they are improving their vocabulary and grammar through a subject they are motivated by. The essential skill in this method is reading, as the students have to review different text and sources. All the information that students need can be provided by:
GAMES
VIDEOS
CARDS
NEWSPAPERS
PROJECT-BASED LEARNING
It is a language teaching method in which the students have to solve real-life problems to develop their autonomy and critical thinking skills.
Students will have to investigate and get engaged with different challenges, developing their high-order thinking skills or HOT's.
According to Bloom's Taxonomy, there are 3 levels of HOT's:
CREATING
EVALUATING
