Vieira da Silva
Born in Lisbon on 13 June 1908 and became one of the most significant abstract painters of the 20th century. She studied art in Lisbon and Paris. Vieira da Silva received numerous honors, including the Grand Prix of the São Paulo Biennale (1961), the French Grand Prix National des Arts (1966), and the Grand Cross of the Order of Santiago de Espada (1977). She died in Paris on 6 March 1992.
