- Language develops best through social interaction and responsive communication (Yule, 2020). - Technology is a great way to provide exposure to a language. Still, it's not great at providing reciprocal conversation, which is important for anyone learning a language, especially children who are acquiring their first language. - Overexposure to technology (especially now, since it's everywhere) can reduce active participation in conversations. Things like passive video watching can lead children to be in a more passive mode rather than actively participating in conversation.
