Ok guys! You know that pollution is hurting our planet, affecting oceans, forests, animals, etc. Pollution is in rubbish, fumes, when people cut trees... But we have to stop it and this is our objective: by using English correctly we will learn how pollution affects and how we can control it. And for that we have to complete some missions. Introduction

Forests and oceans

Read the following text: Forests and oceans are homes for thousands of animals and plants. Sadly, pollution is destroying many natural places. People cut down trees carelessly and throw plastic into the sea. This plastic harms fish and makes the water dirty. In some areas, volunteers work hard to clean beaches and plant new trees. Their actions are helpful and make our planet healthier.

Lets' go

Think and answer... what kind of pollution do you see in the text?

Next

Prefixes and suffixes

Discuss together, which are their meanings?

Introduction

Animals

Animals are endangered because of pollution. Both on land and in water. You will read a piece of a book and see a video that tell the story. Video: Save Our Rivers. Earth Rangers (minute 1:16) “The river used to be so beautiful! Tengra thinks. He swims around and notices more garbage. The water is dirty and full of people's trash. Tengra becomes more and more angry. Tengra gathers his friends Puti, Rui, Katla, Chingri and Koi and asks for their help. How can they make the place where they live cleaner? The fish decide to speak directly with the humans. The next day, Tengra and his friends visit the river bank and spot a boy throwing trash into the water. They tell him gently, ‘You are polluting our home. Why are you throwing your garbage into the river?”

Let's go

Once you have watched the video...

Click in the face...

What have you seen in it? How does the animal feel? Who is the responsible to keep the water clean?

Once you have read the text...

What problem does Tengra see? How does it feel about the river now?

I accept only answers I consider correct.

Next

Well done... now, which important words do you remember from the text?

Write them in a paper

Then I'll give you some flashcards and you must shoot the ball into the clean or the dirty basket. I'll be with you to give some feedback
