The children arrived in costume, excited to see their friends and teachers and to take part in the school parade. They waved proudly as they walked, spotting familiar faces along the way. Afterwards, families joined us in the classroom for a celebration that felt both festive and full of heart. We played games, shared special treats, and laughed together. It was one of those days that reminded us how deeply belonging grows through shared moments of joy and connection.

BSD FS1
Rainbow Class have been doing some investigating. We have been finding out what happens when we put different things in water. We experimented with sugar, salt, corn flour and plain flour. We learnt what ‘dissolve’ means and how different things behave in water. After our lessons we have continuous provision where we can further our investigations independently. We loved it when the sugar and salt disappeared and we found out that not only did the flour not dissolve, but we could make gloop with it.

Owl Cookies in BSD's FS2
This week in Busy Bees, the children made delicious owl cookies to consolidate their learning from the story, ‘Owl Babies’. Each child was encouraged to mix and stir the ingredients, followed by decorating their owl before placing the cookies in the oven. Alongside this activity, the children were able to lead their own learning and explore the different learning zones within the classroom - displaying confidence and curiosity throughout. Well done, superstars!

In our PreK and KG1 classrooms, stories are more than words on a page; they are seeds of learning. We began our exploration of plants with the tale of a tiny seed dreaming of becoming a tall green plant. As the story unfolded, so did our students’ curiosity.

Growing Stories, Growing Minds in Pre-K/KG1
Through storytelling, they were not just hearing about growth; they were imagining it, feeling it, and soon, living it. When “Planting Day” arrived, the children became part of the story themselves. They planted their own seeds, watered them gently, and placed them where sunlight could reach, just as the story described. Each morning, they returned to check their pots, watching the soil for signs of life.

ISG Dammam Continued
When Abdulaziz proudly said, “My seed is growing because I take care of it,” he was not only describing his plant but expressing his understanding of care and responsibility. Storytelling continued to guide their learning as students created illustrated life cycle storyboards, sang songs like “I’m a Little Seed,” and acted out the journey from seed to sprout. These story experiences helped them connect imagination with inquiry and emotion with understanding.
Through storytelling, our young learners discovered that science is not just about facts; it is about wonder. Their stories remind us that when imagination and curiosity grow together, learning truly takes root.

Number Inquiry
Discovering the Many Ways to Explore Numbers
What
Why
How
The lesson introduced numbers 0–5 through meaningful, hands-on exploration. Rather than paper and pencil work, children engaged with numbers through counting games, building towers, sorting objects, and creating number stories.
This inquiry-based approach nurtures curiosity, problem-solving, and joyful learning. It helps children see that understanding numbers is not memorized but discovered — through play, collaboration, and connection to the world around them.
Through intentional provocations and thoughtfully designed centers, children used open-ended materials such as loose parts, blocks, and natural items to explore, represent, and communicate mathematical ideas.

Discovering the World with Our Five Senses
Our curious young explorers had a blast discovering how we use our five senses — sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch — to explore and learn about the world around us!

ISG Jubail Continued
Students were inspired by the incredible stories of Ray Charles and Helen Keller, who proved that with courage and determination, anything is possible. Students even created their own names in Braille to experience how people use their sense of touch to read and connect with the world. To make learning even more exciting, our little scientists had fun with a Mr. Potato Five Senses Activity, where they used different sensory parts to build their own Mr. Potato and talk about how each sense helps us every day! We wrapped up our fun learning with a popping popcorn celebration, using all our senses — listening to the kernels pop, smelling the buttery aroma, feeling the warmth, seeing the golden color, and, of course, tasting the yummy popcorn!

SARA Village School FS2
As part of their learning, the children visited the Sara Village bus stop and they observed passengers boarding the bus and the bus departing. It was really exciting to see two passengers on their way to the mall to enjoy tea and cake, but Reception couldn't help wondering why the naughty bus, from their story, had not collected the passengers. They also identified the bus stop sign and looked carefully at the bus timetable. It has truly been a pleasure to watch the new Reception children settle into their routines so well and we are excited about enjoying more adventures together this school year.
