- How will this Empower Grant be utilized to enhance the education of your students?
Students will have a better understanding of how to move in different contexts. Students will know that in order to enjoy energy you first need a power source and a transport channel and a final power transformer.
- What are the goals of this project?
Detailed on page 3.
- Why are these funds needed?
These funds will be used to purchase supplies to help students internalize the objectives. Students know that these materials should be available to the following students. Lunar Colony is the second Lunar Base project. The first was Solar Offroad, which was carried out thanks to Poudre Valley REA
Overview
This project aims to foster spatial, logical, and creative thinking through hands-on 3D geometry and robotics activities. Students will begin by visualizing and constructing three-dimensional geometric figures using 3D pens, developing a deeper understanding of volume, area, and symmetry in a tangible way. Later, they will apply these concepts in the Robotics Club, where they will design and build "mechanical structures" for robots, strengthening the connection between mathematics, engineering, and technology.
Objectives Module 2
Geometry
Instead of working exclusively on paper or on the board, students will have the opportunity to construct three-dimensional representations of geometric figures—such as prisms, pyramids, polyhedra, or solids of revolution—through the use of a 3D pen.
Objectives Module 2
Application with mini sphero robots

After exploring three-dimensional geometry with the 3D pen, students will apply their knowledge using Sphero robots. Through programming and designing movement paths, they will understand how geometric concepts—such as angles, trajectories, coordinates, and symmetries—are put into practice in controlling the robots. In this way, robotics becomes a natural extension of geometric work: students move from building static structures to creating dynamic systems, where mathematics and technology combine to solve real-world challenges in a creative and collaborative way.
