start

It is small and round It has many spikes on its back It has a little black nose and short legs It’s brown and white. The belly is light.

The hedgehog lives in the forest, in bushes, under leaves or in small holes in the ground

t hides under the leaves. In winter, it sleeps!

The fox is bigger than the hedgehog. It has a long nose, pointy ears, and a big, fluffy tail. It’s clever, fast and sneaky.

The fox eats small animals, eggs and fruit.

“The fox lives in a den. It sleeps in the day and goes out at night.

Inside the den, it is dark, warm and safe.

The fox is orange, with white on its chest and tail tip, and black on its legs and ears. The orange colour helps it hide among the autumn leaves.

Look! Under the trees, under the leaves, the hedgehog sleeps. And deep down, in a hole in the ground, the fox lives!”
