WHAT IS IT?
It's an international sporting event where athletes from all over the world and from multiple disciplines participate.
OrIGIN
They originated in Ancient Greece in 776 BC, in Olympia. Only free Greek men participated, and competitions included races, wrestling, and the pentathlon. They were held every four years.

The Olympic flame acts as a bridge, uniting the tradition of the Antiquity Olympic Games with the modern Games. It is an emblem of peace, friendship, unity... In the Olympia of antiquity, when the Olympic Games were held, a sacred fire dedicated to Hestia, the goddess of the home, was fanned. At the Amsterdam Olympic Games, the tradition of the llama was revived.
Sports and disciplines
• In summer, we can enjoy about 32 sports, such as athletics, swimming and gymnastics. • In winter, there are about 15 sports, including skiing, skating and ice hockey. In recent years, new disciplines have been added such as skateboarding, surfing, sport climbing and breakdance.
