Scenario 3

Scenario 4

1/3

The “Behavior” component of the SBI model should describe only what was observed, without personal judgment.

True

False

Right Answer!

Correct Answer: TRUE Explanation: The “Behavior” step focuses on observable actions, not interpretations. Saying, “You interrupted me twice during the meeting” is objective, and saying, “You were rude” is a judgment. Keeping it factual ensures feedback feels fair and professional.

2/3

In the SBI model, “Situation” should include detailed personal opinions about why the event happened.

True

False

Right Answer!

Correct Answer: FALSE Explanation: The “Situation” should only describe where and when the behavior occurred, like “In yesterday’s team meeting.” It does not include personal opinions or analysis. Adding opinions can make the feedback sound biased or emotional instead of helpful.

3/3

Feedback using the SBI model can be used to recognize positive actions, not just to correct performance issues.

True

False

Right Answer!

Correct Answer: TRUE Explanation: SBI is meant for all types of feedback, both corrective and positive. Recognizing good behavior (“When you helped your coworker meet a deadline, it improved our teamwork”) reinforces what people should keep doing and builds motivation.

This assessment is designed to reinforce your understanding of the SBI Model of Feedback—a powerful tool for delivering clear, respectful, and actionable feedback in professional settings. Through a series of realistic workplace scenarios, you’ll practice identifying and applying feedback that aligns with the SBI framework: Situation – When and where did it happen? Behavior – What specifically did the person do? Impact – What was the effect of that behavior?
