INTRODUZIONE
- Le scuole di oggi sono più diversificate che mai. I bambini provengono da contesti molto diversi tra loro e portano con sé lingue, tradizioni ed esperienze uniche.
- In qualità di genitore o tutore, svolgi un ruolo fondamentale nell'aiutare tuo figlio a crescere con rispetto, apertura mentale e comprensione verso gli altri.
- Questo modulo introduce il concetto di consapevolezza interculturale e transculturale e fornisce metodi pratici per aiutare tuo figlio a diventare inclusivo ed empatico.

Che cos'è la consapevolezza
inter/transculturale?
- La consapevolezza interculturale significa essere consapevoli, curiosi e rispettosi nei confronti delle persone provenienti da culture diverse. Comprende il riconoscimento dei diversi modi di parlare, pensare, festeggiare o vivere.
- La consapevolezza transculturale va oltre questo. Si tratta di creare connessioni tra culture diverse, trovando valori condivisi e creando ponti tra le persone, anche quando le loro tradizioni e credenze sono diverse. Si tratta di vedere la cultura come qualcosa che tutti noi plasmiamo insieme, non come qualcosa che ci divide.

Perché è importante la consapevolezza inter/transculturale?
I bambini che crescono con una consapevolezza culturale sono più propensi a diventare gentili, di mentalità aperta e ad avere successo in un mondo multiculturale. Aiutare vostro figlio a comprendere le diverse culture può aiutarlo a:
- Sviluppare empatia e imparare a rispettare gli altri.
- Evitare incomprensioni e stereotipi.
- Essere orgoglioso della propria identità e del proprio patrimonio culturale.
- Lavorare e giocare con compagni di classe provenienti da contesti diversi.

Come possiamo passare dalla consapevolezza interculturale a quella transculturale?
Come genitore, puoi aiutare tuo figlio ad andare oltre il semplice “notare” le differenze per arrivare ad accettarle veramente.
Puoi:
- Parlare apertamente della cultura, sia della tua sia di quella degli altri.
- Incoraggiare le domande e la curiosità sul mondo.
- Condividere storie, musica, cibo e tradizioni di culture diverse.
- Celebrare allo stesso modo le somiglianze e le differenze.
- Aiutare tuo figlio a riflettere su ciò che ci unisce tutti come esseri umani.

I genitori e i tutori sono i primi modelli di riferimento dei bambini. Il vostro atteggiamento, il vostro linguaggio e le vostre scelte influenzano il modo in cui vostro figlio vede il mondo. Potete sostenere la consapevolezza interculturale e transculturale:
- Essendo rispettosi e aperti nei confronti della diversità culturale.
- Mostrando interesse per i compagni di classe di vostro figlio e le loro origini.
- Sostenendo le attività scolastiche che promuovono l'inclusione e la diversità.
- Incoraggiando la gentilezza e l’empatia verso tutti.
- Costruendo ponti con altre famiglie, in particolare quelle di culture diverse.
