P(V)hantastic Department: We need your help!

Start

Amgen has launched a revolutionary medicine called Stressitol Forte® indicated for the treatment of "Too Zen Syndrome". This condition affects patients who are so relaxed that they do absolutely nothing. They have reached such an extreme level of inner peace that they forget to work, eat, shower, or even move.

Stressitol Forte® stimulates the “stress gland” to generate just the right amount of anxiety needed to tackle everyday tasks, like replying to emails or putting together those never-ending PowerPoint presentations.

However...

After 6 months on the market, Amgen has started receiving reports of unexpected side effects:

  • Ninja Verborrhea: patients begin talking nonstop in five languages at once.
  • Permanent Karaoke Effect: patients are unable to speak unless they sing it—everything must be communicated in pop-ballad style.
  • TikTok Dance Incontinence: involuntary movements replicating viral choreographies every time a phone rings nearby.

What message would you send to the Pharmacovigilance Department?

Select the most appropriate one:

Dr. Inner Peace (dr.innerpeace@emailsmiley.com) reports a patient wearing a green t-shirt and brown trousers who claims that his mug “sings to him”. He says it happened on a sunny day in June, and has already told his best friend — a football player. The doctor adds that the patient is also the proud owner of a Renault Megane. The patient insists he has gained a significant TikTok following thanks to the situation and therefore plans to continue taking the medication.

Dr. Inner Peace (dr.innerpeace@emailsmiley.com) reports a 37-year-old patient who started taking Stressitol Forte® on June 13th, 2025, for Too-Zen-Person Syndrome. Since June 14th, the patient claims that his mug has been singing summer hits to him, and he feels an uncontrollable urge to record TikToks with the coffee machine. The patient also reports an allergy to decaf and has not stopped taking Estresol Forte®, stating that: "I've gained followers on TikTok, so... worth it."

A 37-year-old patient currently taking Stressitol Forte® claims that his mug “talks to him” and never seems to empty.

The case has been successfully submitted to the Pharmacovigilance Department. Thank you for contributing to patient safety!

It’s just an old Christmas postcard...

Oops! Looks like you need to go back and check Dr. Inner Peace’s notes again...

Check notes

It’s just a patient’s medical record...

Oops!

While there’s a lot of information available, details like the patient’s outfit or what car they drive aren’t exactly key to patient safety. Carefully review the case file and pay special attention to:

  • Dates
  • Outcome
  • Concomitant medication

Oops!

Looks like you missed quite a bit of the case file. Take another look and pay close attention to:

  • Dates
  • Outcome
  • Concomitant medication

It’s just a reminder about their next dentist appointment...

Well done!

You’ve collected and reported the safety information correctly, including details beyond the minimum required. This helps improve safety assessments and investigations, and ultimately, enhances patient safety!
