Separating the wheat form the chaff
IThreshing floors lwere located on the top of m mountains. When grain was throw into the air with a winnowing fork, the heavier grain would fall back to the ground while the chaff, which is much lighter would be carried away by the cross wind . Read more in Matthew 3:1-12.
Threshing floors
In the ancient world, farmers used threshing floors to separate grain from the in edible husk (chaff). As pictured here, animals would tow a threshing sledge to help dehusk the grain more quickly. Read more about Araunah's threshing floor in 2 Samual 24:18-25.
Jerusalem today viewed from the Mount of Olives
IThe Kidron Valley is the low lands that are green in the middle of this picture. The valley separted Jerusalem from the adjacent mountain top that the Mount of Olives was located. Jesus and his disciples crossed the Kidron Valley to go to the Mount of Olives where the Garden of Gethsemane was. Read more in Matthew 20:36-46.
King David's Palace
During King David's reign, his palace was the largest building in Jerusalem and to the point was also built on the highest spot on that mountain. David wanted to build a house for the Lord (a temple). Read more in 2 Samuel 7.

King Herod's Temple

Mt. Moriah (also known as Mr. Horeb) would be the place where Solomon built the first temple and later where the temple was rebuilt. Discover what happened there in Genesis 22.
